As several commentators have pointed out if Musk was really serious about cutting fraud, waste and abuse he would have retained experienced forensic auditors to audit the books of federal agencies not the young inexperienced software engineers with no experience auditing large organizations that he brought with him from his private sector companies. By the way this is from an article in Fortune Magazine not exactly considered part of the liberal mainstream media.

Speaking of defending the indefensible apparently you have no problem with denying food and medical care to millions of the poorest people in the world because a small fraction of the USAID budget may have been spent on wasteful projects. While there's no way to defend the waste punishing the innocent poor in Third World countries suffering from famine and disease is not an acceptable solution to the problem.
