Apparently we simultaneously posted the same commitment tweet. I have deleted mine to cut out the duplicate thread.
Good for him, but this will inevitably lead to controversy: great name, but is it a better basketball name or football name? Tough call.
Since Denzel is from Orlando I would assume that several members of this forum have seen him play. What do you think of him as a Gator next year?
3-star guard, listed as a shooting guard, but I see that he played point guard for Dr. Phillips High. So that's a good sign. Recruited by programs such as Cincinnati, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, and Virginia Tech.
Found a clip from when he was a little younger. Looks like a great pickup! Ball handling skills, beats defense down the court. Nice hustle. Makes the other team look small in comparison. Nice 3!! And deserves an extra ice cream after the game!
How many players have I actually said that I don’t like? I can’t think of any since Ray Shipman. And even then, I didn’t say that I didn’t like him. I simply said that he wasn’t a good player. I also don’t bad mouth kids although I point out their flaws, and the work that they need to do. However, unlike a bunch of you, I have no man love for Mike White. Think about it. I have stood behind Hester, Gak, Bassett, Lewis, Glover, Ruzhnetsev and others while you guys are bad mouthing them. Maybe the coach has something to do with these players not succeeding.

Muggsy Bogues, Earl Boykins and Calvin Murphy were great NBA point guards. You can even add in Spud Webb, Nate Robinson and Isiah Thomas the Younger (not to be confused with the Piston's great who was a bit taller but never dunked). Yes, there have been many short point guards that were and are awesome players. But Magic Johnson was about a foot taller and the GOAT. At his time a player of that size with those skills was insane. Nothing wrong with a tall PG if they have the skills.
You can be tall, strong and deliberate. You can be short, quick/fast and pesky (and have a high basketball IQ). You can't be short, deliberate and have a limited IQ. Cheez worked. Hill finally worked by his senior year (still was not much of an outside shot). Glover never got there (I don't think his speed was good enough and his IQ never got over that fact).
My guess is that Glover was the quickest player on the team. I expect him to do very well at Samford.
