I have to admit that the Vances in Del Ray is an image that has brought me more than a few laughs. Mesa County, Colorado has moderated a bit with the Peters scandal and conviction and Boebert having to high tail it over The Hill to run in another Red district, but it is still decidedly more Red than Purple. In contrast to previous years there are fewer campaign signs of any stripe in neighborhoods I drive through.

There is one notable Trump sign, double staked in a vacant lot along a busy road we travel to reach the neighborhood we live. A Trump sign has been in the same spot as long as we have lived in Grand Junction - nearly 6 years now. It first read 'Trump - 2020.' Soon after that defeat it reappeared as 'Take America back with the 2024 date even though he had not yet announced he was running again. It has been replaced periodically as it deteriorates and fades from the hot sun and harsh winds of the Western Slope. The sign may have been vandalized at some point as it is now covered by 3 video security cameras, likely motion detected.

The lot is a trashed lot, less than a single acre, and filled with a pile of excavated rocks from some other site. County parcel records indicate it is owned by 2 women. Click link to see the lot and sign.

He gets a big motorcade very regularly. A little annoying.

He should return the favor of us dealing the inconvenience by....publicly refusing to tell Trump's lies.
