Wanne, there are others who are as well, they’re just not “ newsworthy “ enough to be “sports news”, as it’s covered today.

The one time I asked “ why” some posters were so interested in Deion, some folks got offended.

    He’s just a non-issue for me.

I’ll always find the responses to him interesting. I guess he’s our Christian Lighther.

That's not even close to what he was saying, nor the subject of the article. He was talking about how the kids doing classes online takes away from the experience of college.

I'm 99% sure most on this thread haven't read the article. If they had, the thread would have gone in a different direction because they would have caught what you pointed out.

You know what the irony is? Ask these same guys if they'd prefer all of our guys getting a good education or winning a national championship and what are they going to choose. How many times have we heard complaining that UF administration dropped the ball by having the audacity to try to be a great academic school at the expense of sports. Second part of that is false, but that's the argument many make.

Or not attending class at all when it comes to the hypocritical speaker.

Pretending that many of these guys should ever step in a classroom is almost hysterical.

I am not the same person at my current age as I was in my late teens. Is it not possible that Deion has gained perspective as he got older? There are things I tell my kids to do that I either didn’t do… or that I did, but don’t want them to do.

Well of course but I’m sure there are things I should not try to be a public spokesman on. Thank god we didn’t have everything recorded as kids or I’d just have to go sit in a corner.

I think he’s is a total douchbag and wonder about those who choose to defend him. He’s pretty insignificant until the media tries to cram him down our throats

I get it. He’s just one of those guys that hits your “ sports nerve”.

I feel the exact same way about Belicheat and Jim Harbargh, as you feel about Deion. Ohhh, added “ Known Cheaters” to things not to like about them. I also hate that the media just crams them down our throats.

So….i get your perspective on Deion, to a point.

Who better to speak on it than someone who made the mistake themselves?

But it doesn't seem that Deion is really talking about being a 100% devoted scholar. I think it's more to do with being involved with and on the campus. Yes, going to class is a part of what he's saying, but it seems like he has a broader message.

If they were being shoved down our throats the same way, you might see the same types of responses. I don’t see a ton of threads on either of them here though. I also don’t remember either them giving themselves nicknames that they demanded to be addressed by or any of the other over the top attention whore nonsense the guy in boulder does.

Sure it's possible, but why doesn't he say so? He just prefers to sound like a total hypocrite? It would help make his point if he said something about how he himself missed out on campus life as a "student." But of course the question, why doesn't he say that, is rhetorical. He would be admitting a mistake, and narcissists don't make mistakes. Don't even opine that one has made a mistake. Tim McCarver found that out.

What was interesting is that his son has not taken anything but online classes in college. If all the football players schedules are like that at CO, process wrought with cheating opportunities. Similar to music classes when DS was at FSU

How do you know he hasn’t? Regardless, why is it a requirement that he publicly states it? It seems you are inventing new slights each time and you all are being ridiculous. I think there is plenty of hypocrisy to go around.

I'm talking about what he says (and doesn't say) in the article. How do I know what he says other than hot-dogging public statements like "I'm coming" and "I ain't hard 2 find"?

Where did I say it's a requirement? I simply asked why he didn't do it, since I think it would be to his credit. I think he could use some.

No, it seems like you are inventing words to put in my mouth.

Those two I can’t stand either but I guess it’s understandable when you actually win nattys and super bowls that we have to see them in the limelight.
