Diabate will be playing at 230, 20 lbs heavier than in 20, with a DL that can keep the OL off of him so he can make plays. He will be like a heat seeking missle as a roaming OLB.

we have so much talent at LB/BUCK that it’s just going to be ridiculous if the ship doesn’t right itself defensively. Too much returning EXPERIENCED talent. People forget about Chatfield too. I REALLLY loved his film last year

So many buck types, I’m interested to see the growth over the last year and see if any moved into different positions.

Latest rivals blurb on broken D’s isn’t convinced..lol..
Hopefully more consistent DL play that can keep the OL from getting to backers :) Wonder what Floyd was telling the players

    From Bruce Feldmans Freak list:

    21. Dameon Pierce, Florida, running back
He led the Gators in rushing with 503 yards last season and also caught 17 passes for 156 yards. The 5-10, 215-pound senior might have the strongest lower body of any running back in college football. Pierce squats 705 pounds and vertical jumps 37 inches. He’s clocked a 4.50 40 and has just 6 percent body fat. In addition, he benches 390 pounds.

    43. Mohamoud Diabate, Florida, linebacker
The Gators have a bunch of young Freaks in the pipeline (remember the name: Anthony Richardson, a huge, athletic quarterback), but Diabate, who is in his third season in the program, really emerged in 2020, making 69 tackles and seven TFLs. He made 10 tackles in the SEC title game against Alabama. As for his Freak credentials, Diabate is 6-3 1/2, 226 pounds and was clocked at 4.51, but the staff thinks he will run even faster. He’s broad jumped 10-4, verticaled 33.5-inches, squatted 605, benched 355 and clocked in 20.6 MPH on the GPS. He also has just 5.5 percent body fat.

Diabate is going to have a good year. Pierce lacks vision is my take which is not worth much. He’s a hard runner( I’d hates to tackle him more than a couple times a game) but he’s not hard to find. He blocks well though so he’s on the field.

Pierce has freaky strength. I never thought Diabate was playing at less than 220lbs. I imagine the NFL is going to want to see him trending towards the 240 range.

Is Diabate playing rush end, or LB?

I just hope he does his job, that was our problem last year much more than talent. We should be more talented this year but for gods sake, just work as a unit.

That defensive front wasn’t SEC quality last year as far as depth goes. I think we will be much better this year and you’ll see the difference.

Is there a chance Jamari Lyons is being asked to wait until McClellan and Nolen decide what they want to do? Or are all of them takes?

Hope Lyons has the greenlight anytime he wants. I would not hold him up for any player.
