Wingo is just limited athletically, he comes up short when it's a play to the sideline. It is what it is. I also think the dude is playing with 1 arm when you watch the way he tries to tackle. Will never hold either of those things against him, but it doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't be our first choice.

Moore is our best cover man, if he could stay healthy he can hold down one side, hopefully Jackson can be ready for prime time next year on the other side.

Denson really flashed for me in this game, limited sample size, but man, it is encouraging.

Jury is out on the Safeties for me, just too many missed tackles, need marked improvement.

Moore is also 6'2"-6'3" and matched up well with F$U bigger receivers

Moore is really good. I know I know, he’s been injured a lot, but they were two full games where number eight played ahead of him and which he got four or five snaps total. He’s not been injured as much as we think.

Fil~ should provide help in the safety room. We need an elite CB this class. Sucks we lost Mack. Biggest loss so far imo

I don't see many comments about the problem of winning if you keep shooting yourself in the foot. Four fifteen yard penalties. At least two by the defense on drive stopping plays.
I don't think it matters how the coach calls the game when you dig that kind of hole. If I recall correctly one player had three of those; and youth was not a problem.
I have also wondered all year whether there are any defensive back coaches. It almost seems like the DBs don't know how to play the position. Much too often the ball is totally uncontested (4th and 17) or it is a PI. (I should think that a college level DB would at least know to turn his head.) I will say that I thought they defended more aggressively last night; but obviously too aggressively at key points.

We left 7 points we should've had with a 1 and goal at the one, and then we left 3 with the field goal we missed because we wasted that. We had opportunities to put them away early and didn't. Special teams killed us all season. Plus, tied the NCAA record by the D for the least turnovers in a season. We killed ourselves with stupidity all year from two players on the field with the same number, to too many men on the field, too few men on the field, to last night's glorious spitting on a player, to the penalty that took us from starting field position on the 45 to the 30, and as a previuos poster stated, two of those big penalties were after we had stopped them. etc. I think they could be seriously good in the future, but until they do something about the discipline issues, it's not going to happen, because those are serious issues.

He's missed 5 full games and significant portions of others with injury. That's the only thing holding him back. Unfortunately he also missed half of last season as well, so it's something of an issue.

One of the things that Napier emphasized in his very first PC that two years later still has not improved, along with attention to detail. Sadly, the only culture that he seems to have instilled in this program is the culture and expectation of losing.

Thank you, these people talking about Wingo as a starter are out of their minds. I'm sure he's a great dude but he's not an every down SEC LB.

We need a dominant DT, a true Rush End, and a good MLB to pair with Shemar James.

Wingo had the 2nd most sacks (2.5)and sack yards(21) for the season on the team behind only Princely. Also was one of only 2 LB to be credited with a pass defended. had 18 tackles in limited action.

He might have been the only defender to play well in last year's bowl game against Oregon State. This year, when he is in, he seems to be more impactful than Scooby Williams. I hope he returns next year.

Soberingly, has anyone seen next year’s schedule ? These kids are going to have to play lights out if Billy is to see 2025 as a Gator.

The defense was not the problem Sat night. We were missing a bazillion starting LBs and still allowed 224 yards.

Offensive playcalling and missed FGs were the difference.

The most concerning stat, IMO, is total interceptions for the year for our D=3. I believe we have some good quality players, and can't wrap my head around how AA will fix this. (If not someone else).

Undermentioned issue this year. Almost total hopelessness to expect a turnover. Imagine if Mertz didn't protect the ball as well as he did

We don't have an every down SEC LB. In fact, I don't think any of our LBs are SEC caliber. They're the weakest part of the defense. Generally, out of position, can't get off of blocks, and are terrible in pass coverage. Shemar is the best, and that's not really saying alot.
