Unfortunately almost every staffing decision that Billy has made has been a mistake.

The laziest defensive coordinators will sit back and rush 3 while pretending the "zone" will work, when it's really just a Prevent Defense/cover-8. The zone is very hard to master, and very few colleges get that right. But that's not the problem. The problem is, nothing good comes from giving the opposing team's QB all day long to pass the ball... NOTHING...

 

This, at least for the on field staff. Despite spending a lot on our staff there don't seem to be very many great coaches on it.

 

The defensive side of the ball has been the problem all year long...

 

I still think the decision has been made and they’re just waiting for a more appropriate time. My money is on Billy being fired after the UGA game. There will only be 4 more weeks, the season will likely be completely lost by then, and you would be announcing your open HC position to any coach interested.

Offense can't score when it goes 1 for 4 on 3rd down, has 3 total first downs and an INT on it's 4 first half possessions.

Ge ge ge genius.

 

Tennessee has given up 87 yards the whole game so far against Oklahoma.

 

Their defense is light years more aggressive than ours. 2nd and 12, they have 7-8 in the box near the LOS, and then rush 6 and get a sack.

 

Unthinkable says our coaches. As Billy says “scared defense don’t stop s%#@“, but we see this every week. This defensive scheme is like the movie “Dumb and Dummer”.
Please put seven or eight players near the LOS and blitz any running or throwing QB.With eight players there is a chance to stop the runs early……

 

Time for a 3rd DC if the players don’t believe in him.

 

Solution: Show film of the bama defense working together and then tell the defense to go do that, no coaches required. The amount of coordination plays with on all 3 levels is amazing. Bama made a great hire in replacing Saban.

 

None of our DL or OL will play in the NFL. Without NFL talent, we are doomed in the SEC.
