It was luck that Marshall anticipated the throw and was in the right place? It was luck that ky had the middle double covered and we threw anyway? That's not my idea of luck. Turnovers can be game changers. Always important in my book.

Luck is that you can hit Marshall dead in the freaking chest and it’s not a turnover. Also luck that a good pass was intercepted.

That still is a bit deceiving, the ball has already left Mertz hand which is bringing the circled LB towards the throw. The WR in the seem runs a hitch, which would have that same LB very close to the throw angle to the seem guy. Is it still the better throw? IMO it is, but it's also still a tight window. Wouldn't it be cool if that seem guy was running a skinny post, looks like it would be wide open.

Arlis should make that catch, but he appears to be anticipating getting popped (which he does) and doesn't make the play. Of course, whenever we have a ball go up in the air the opponent catches it, would be really nice if we could start reciprocating that.

it’s not creative at all that Marshall cannot catch a pass that hits him in the chest. That should be 100% a turnover.

Yep, it should have been a pick 6 as everyone agrees. It was your post that was creative.

And I just saw one of our best DC coaching the Cowboys (Dan Quinn), and he used 5 man fronts to defeat the pass plays... Now obviously they have better... different talent, but even he knows the 3 man front is a joke. It's dated and old news...

What a novel idea, make the offense block 1 on 1 with only TE or RB help to improve your odds getting to the QB without everyone being doubled AND you are much stronger against the run for the same reason sheer genius.

Who is this Dan Q. guy?

I apologize, yes i was its too early in the morning for sarcasm w/o green font.

Your original is spot on wrt committing more players to the LOS much like passing pressure even if you are in a run blitz. AA will get better. Getting a feel for the game w/o polling a committee at halftime is OJT for younger guys.

i dont believe its because AA doesn't have the answers just needs to pull the trigger sooner during the game instead of letting the players ‘figure it out’ like a struggling pitcher in baseball make the change

I was stunned when he went way from what he said in his first presser. He was committed to 4 and 5 D-lineman on the defense and I thought finally we got a coach that gets the COLLEGE game.

It all comes down to two things... Do you want to sit back and play passive defense, or do you want to attack the QB and running backs while they are in the backfield? I'll take the latter all day long.

Hell no, they kicked the living snot out of us. Two turnovers wouldn’t begin to help that stomping.

We finished 19th in Turnover Margin last year but that did not translate into many wins. This year we are currently sitting at 104.
