Debt limit passes House, moves on to Senate.

Objectively it seems like he did a good job with this. Nobody, including me, thought it was possible to negotiate with this crazy house Republican crew. He came up with a solution that didn’t involve giving up a lot and punting the issue 2 more years. Everybody wants to talk about how he is senile and feckless yet now some Republicans are angry at McCarthy because they think Biden got the best of him. Biden could have drawn a line in the sand and played chicken, tried 14th amendment or trillion dollar coin gimmicks, etc but he played it low key and just got the job done.

This is how government is supposed to work.

 

I think both sides did a decent job of getting their crazies in line. But to a say one got the better of the other I think is off the mark. Note some of the far left are saying Biden go handled. (not my OP).

Both sides knew that had to get something done and had to save faces with as many as they could.
