That’s a nice fairy tale to believe in, that you’re not like other lazy-minded atheists I’ve engaged.

But I don’t see any evidence that that’s the case.

I don’t do rope-a-dope apologetics anymore, but I’ll throw this out: which God don’t you believe in ?

Clinging to religion is the laziest form of thought in my opinion. Most of the lazy-minded religious people I know only believe because someone else told them to believe. Coincidentally, Those are the kind of people that can't offer evidence when you ask them to...

This, BTW, is how almost every conversation I've tried to have with Christians ends up... Start insulting you for asking for evidence back their opinions... Makes me appreciate the ones that admit "I have faith, not proof, but that's all I need"... That kind of honesty is rare among Christians, which is odd because Jesus is watching.. lol

Insinuating that people are fools for believing in God. Takes umbrage when the snark is returned. Atheists are snowflakes.

For the person to whom you were responding:

    Luke 10:16
“The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

    John 12:48
The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

That's the circular logic I referenced above... Using Bible quotes to argue the Bible is true... Classic example. Thanks

It was actually.you that kicked off the insults in post #51, it was going well until then, what would Jesus think of your behavior? You must atone.

It could be construed as belief based on authority. But you shouldn’t have a problem with that simply because you believe based on authority. You’re a believer!

I’m afraid you’d find Jesus too harsh for your tender sensabilities.

And 99% of them are MAGA, right? Why am I not surprised? The "Thinkin' Hurts" crowd.

Any that are humanized (and not done so for the sake of metaphor). That's the first mistake. Why would you cheapen the concept of God by applying clearly inferior human traits to it? I get it if you're trying to sell the ideas to people in antiquity, but at some point it's got to keep up with the times and clearly the known universe wasn't created by some dude snapping his fingers.

Really? You've got the walkie talkie to God? Tell us, how's the weather in heaven today?

I don’t consider, say, anger (or even jealousy) inferior traits. Would you have preferred a dad who was impassive ?

Also, what makes you think you’re harder to crack than the ancients ?

John 12:37. Go with any translation. Compare to the original Greek. You sound like the ancient priest who’d rather keep the secrets of God hidden from the unwashed.

Sure dude, whatever you say. You forgot to give us the Heaven weather update. Can you ring up God on the walkie talkie and give us an update? Or is he too busy engaging in "righteous" jealousy and spite to pick up the phone?
