Living I pcola, I felt the same way growing up. Spurrier and Bowden reinforced that. Thing is we almost always beat Georgia then and we don’t have near the amount of puppies over here as we do clowns.
My first game was a cocktail party and I was a kid in Baker county. Nobody cared about clowns I. The mid 70’s over there and the puppies were the true rival. Clowns have carved out their share in the rivalry since though. Spurrier just beat the puppies for so long, the younger generation forgot about the puppies for quite awhile.

 

Correct. Similar thing happened in 2000…Miami beat FSU head to head and had same record at end of season but fsu was selected to play in title game vs Oklahoma.
