Slater threw 2/3 days. 82 pitches. That’s not crucial info??

The SEC is already fully established....a title won't impact that at all. And it would be just as easy to argue teams doing well there will hurt us recruiting since those are some of our primary competitors.

Of course it is. Sproat threw 114 as a power guy that normally goes on 7 day rest.

Now tell me how they looked in the pen? Was Sproat sharp, was his velocity good, etc etc? Tell me how they both typically recover from extended outings and how pitch counts/tired arm impact them individually as pitchers? I'll wait for this keen inside look into the program that I don't have.

Name others for what? How they looked in the pen? Sure, I have no idea how any of them were throwing during the rain delay. Please let us know what you saw.

You remind me of a bama fan I know who claims he pulls for all SEC teams, including Auburn, except when they are playing bama. LOL.

Well regardless of all the gesturing back and forth here, there really is some great baseball to be seen. I can't wait for the ND vs OU game tomorrow. Both of those teams are playing some great baseball and deserve to be where they are. I love watching the seeded teams falling left and right and hope to see any team that didn't host a regional make it deep in the tourney. These Super Regional teams apparently are a no show this year.

ND is a veteran team and I was pleased to see them KO Vols... Sooners- damn - that should be us-- The Florida Gators. We had them on the ropes until- call it what you will- a Sully brain fart is as close as I will go. That loss was stunning for all of those who had watched all five Gators' games in that searing June heat. (Ok- someone tell me to "get over it")

Auburn's offense was underwhelming. Were there any barner fans there?-crowd sounded 90% Ole Miss.

They are finally showing why they were ranked #1 in some preseason polls.

All of the remaining regional hosts (seeds) lost in the first round of the CWS leaving teams that had to go on the road in the regionals,Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Arkansas and Ole Miss as winners. I wonder if that ever happened before?

Yep, but not unexpected. its been an 'opportunistic' offense all year. Need gifts like BBs, etc. to be productive usually. There was none of that last night. Every AB starting 0-1, 0-2, makes it difficult. Ive complained all year about taking first pitch strikes, but its what they do. Dont think it mattered last night , as would of just swung & missed at all the first pitch sliders. If P is landing off speed first pitch, nothing you can do w/ that. Gabe would bench anyone swinging at those first pitch, as he should.

Pitching was still good, even starter Gonzo was fine. Rebs contact to hit ratio was astronomical. They struck out like 15 times, but if put in play it found grass every time. Au should teach others how to hit balls directly at fielders. Masters of that..lol

AU is now 1-5 in openers(the 1 in 1967, lol) and 3-11 all time in CWS. Only place Butch cant win in post season.

2 part theory on Omaha woes, at least in modern era. 1. Just happy to be there, and I have no issue w/ this. Its always been a 'upset' that they are there. Unrealistic team goal was achieved. Personally speaking, nothing they do in CWS, good or bad, changes my thoughts on the team 5 years later.
    2. Just dont have the talent. This year especially. Not 1 offensive player will even get a look from MLB. Not 1. Good news(or bad) they might all return for 5th & 6th years.

As far as fans, which is irrelevant to me, but reports are they are near top of field in that category. Just nothing to make noise about.

0-4 vs Stanford all time at CWS. But not till tomorrow, so wont be first team out this time..;) Picked 7th in West, will finish 7th in country at worst. A++ for Butch. How long till Feb 18th??

I like the way they play. Small ball when needed, situational awareness, play clean solid defense, run the bases well, disciplined team play, lack of face paint, no obvious outsized attitudes. Can see why their coach is a hot commodity.

Ben Mc said something dumb. He said that the A&M player thrown out at third cost them a run. If he had stayed at second the batter would have been out at first. Then there was a walk. In both cases it is runners first and second with one out.
