I don't assume there are really any Michigan recruits in play for us - not sure we really competed with them much this year and none of their commits were high on our lists. Or am I missing anyone?
They stayed out of florida this year. Seems like we haven’t really had any battles with them since the mac era.
I used to think being a college hedge coach would be a much more sustainable job than trying to coach in the NFL. With this transfer portal happening every single year, it seems to have become a nightmare for a coach. But for a stack of millions I wouldn’t bitch too much
As a fan it’s really frustrating. I cannot imagine what it’s like for some of these long term coaches that are really trying to compete for championships. Everything is in flux all the time.
That's why recruiting classes with a bunch of Top 150 recruits is so important. The schools that do this will almost certainly lose good to great players but they will have top quality players to fill the holes that the leaving players create. The top schools also need to have enough NIL money to pay for high quality transfers, top rated high school recruits and to retain their own recruits each year. It's not easy to do but it is being done.
As a fan I don't find it frustrating at all. Come the first game of 2024 season I will be cheering for the Gators. Like I have for the past 30 years. The players have always been transient. New names and faces every year as high school recruits come in and Jr/Srs leave for the NFL or graduation. It hasn't really changed just happens more frequently. The Gators are still the Gators.
It has nothing to do with being a fan and cheering for my team. Is it all rainbows and unicorns now? You ok Ettienne went to our most hated rival? It sucks and it’s frustrating. If you’re going to respond that the players have been exploited for decades and ‘it’s all good now’, just save it.
Yeah, I am ok with it. It's his life. He has to do what's best for him. I just got to enjoy what he did for the Gators.
