Technically you are correct the officials are not tied to conferences, but the booking commissioner of the SEC decides on the officials assigned to the SEC games and of course he picks from the same group of officials. They also like to assign officials that live closer to the games to keep the travel costs down as well.
The pool is not very deep, and the same assholes do the games for all the conferences. They’re kind of regional, but they suck just as bad when they ref games for other conferences.
Time to do some auditing of these refs. Hold them accountable. Too many are either grossly incompetent or dirty, or both.
We were in the double bonus with just about 10min remaining and it was obvious that the game would drag on. Normally, we'd be excited to be in the bonus that early, but not with the way our shooters were laying bricks.

I let loose with the 10 gauge on the 72" when we bricked two, I think it was 11 of 27 at that point. Couldn't take it anymore. Screamed: Hey son - bring me the "rectifier", Loaded me some double ought, let fly, very satisfying, excellent shot pattern from the ole girl. Of course that was from 8 feet. Clean up was kinda tough though, and I had to finish the contest on my I Phone.
One foul call on Micah (his 3rd I think) seemed ridiculous where he was in good defensive position on the left side of the block with arms straight up and Georgia's much shorter player (around 6' I think) tried to shoot over our 7-footer. Micah swallowed up the shot as expected. But a foul was called. On tv, you couldn't see what was happening; I think the Georgia player and the ball were almost invisible in the camera angle. No replay of course. Very frustrating!
Perserverance pays off! Just a matter of time. Good for Riley and I appreciate it!! Kentucky going down along with the Vols tonight. If we could just beat Bama tonight, we will be in a nice spot.
Kudos to Kugal for being a great supporter of his teammates even though he didn’t play. On a few occasions when DA and Clayton hit big shots he was the first on his feet yelling and cheering. Many guys mighta sulked but he was very animated and all about the team.
I made the exact same comment in the game thread. Great minds. Watch a rested Kugel come out tomorrow and be the MVG.
