He does not have to try. It works. Just making this powerful therapeutic available. Many people excited. They are not having Regeneron parties to celebrate but they are excited none the less.

I guess if you are going to refuse a vax it's good to have a backup plan when you end up at the hospital.

Edit: I confused regeneron with remdesivir

It is sad. To me, much worse because he didn't have to die and it's hard to stomach his realizing this only after it's too late.

    Still makes no sense.

Not willing to take antibodies via needle.
Perfectly willing, or celebrating (?), taking antibodies via IV drip.

Wut? Have you ever had an IV line?

Regeneron's product is antibodies given via an IV, and seems to be far less of a gamechanger than the vaccine, and it's a $5000 a pop drug. The vaccine has been 90%, slipping to perhaps 80%. With these therapeutics they are still just claiming like 20% reduction in mortality at best (although that is for people already infected AND showing symptoms, so it's a harder test, sounds like it best works for people who are not generating their own antibodies).

From what I've been told, the best thing about Regeneron monoclonal antibodies is it can be done on an outpatient basis. It may also be the most effective therapeutic yet (but that actually isn't saying much, since the therapeutic side of things are barely beating 0%)

Remdesiver is a 5 day course. You MUST be an inpatient in the hospital to get the 5 day course, and unfortunately it is not doing well against severe illness.

With Regeneron apparently they hook you up to an IV bag wherever they set that up, so they are starting to use that in the emergency room or in a clinic of sorts to avoid admitting people who are ill enough to show up, but can get away with not being admitted (helps the bed shortage). Basically, if you are less severe, you get regeneron via IV and hopefully they don't see you again. That is certainly a good thing if it can help keep some people from getting admitted, but seems rather crazy to be "for" this but "against" the vaccine. Makes no damn sense.

"You are not a horse. You are not a cow," the US Food and Drug Administration tweeted Saturday. "Seriously, y'all. Stop it."

FDA warns against ivermectin as COVID treatment

But where did so many people get the idea that a horse dewormer was a good idea?

AstraZeneca set to score a major victory for those who are immunosuppressed and cannot tolerate the COVID-19 vaccine. Their anti-body cocktail has been shown to reduce the risk of infection by 77% vs a placebo group. Additinally, 0 deaths were recorded in the study group, while 3 deaths occurred in the placebo arm from severe disease. AZ has not released the data from the Phase3 trial yet, but their aim was for the cocktail to provide durable protection for 1 year. If they achieve that goal, for these immunosuppressed people....and my sister is one, they would effectively be able to receive this treatment once per year (like a flu shot) and gain significant protection against contracting COVID. This would be a huge breakthrough for her and people like her.

AstraZeneca antibody cocktail slashes risk of symptomatic COVID-19, setting up regulatory filings and a lifeline for the immunosuppressed

Missed where they say in that video that people should use a "horse de-wormer" or that they should use any kind of veterinary medicine.

FYI, Ivermectin is still used in hospitals.

Here’s What You Need to Know about Ivermectin
    • FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans. Ivermectin tablets are approved at very specific doses for some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. Ivermectin is not an anti-viral (a drug for treating viruses).
    • Taking large doses of this drug is dangerous and can cause serious harm.
    • If you have a prescription for ivermectin for an FDA-approved use, get it from a legitimate source and take it exactly as prescribed.
    • Never use medications intended for animals on yourself. Ivermectin preparations for animals are very different from those approved for humans.

Regeneron is being used to help keep people out of the hospital. Not saying that it will not. As like the vaccine. This does not work for everyone and some are going to get it even after being admitted I am sure. But its main purpose is not for those who end up in the hospital. It is to keep people out of the hospital. Vaccinated and Unvaccinated.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott vaccinated. Also got the Regeneron treatment after testing positive. Now testing negative.
