And is the GOV going to just keep passing out checks?
I know numerous people who didn't get a dime, sure they have savings but for how long?
No way the US stays shut down for 6-12 months.

Very small study, like I said we know the side effect profile. Which Zithromax causes the same thing (actually more often).
Pretty much most all people in hospital are getting it regardless of "trials".
This includes Shands where a former classmate works and Jackson in Miami.

Heart-lung machines have been around since the 1950's, but they replace the heart while it is being operated on. Not sure about lung bypass machines.

When the ultra right wingers figure out this is a Stem Cell based treatment, they will really go ape doo-doo and claim that the Evil Jews with the liberal left are using this to actually kill conservative patients or some other crazy arse poppy cock.

Please, not here. I'd like to keep this about treatments, cures, and vaccines.

Plenty of places for the usual arguments. Thanks!

As mentioned earlier, they are referring to Israeli regulations.

By the time of organ failure, it is typically over. It would seem worthwhile to give an immunosuppressant to people whose immune system goes into overdrive and starts killing them. The dicey part is you don't want to suppress the immune system if it is working properly.

It is from placental cells. Not sure why that would bother anyone.

They only use postnatal placentas as the source for all of their cells. There is no moral dilemma for anyone in using their products.

ECMO(Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ) has been around for decades, early on it was used on premature infants. It's not without significant safety issues. Patients need to have blood thinned, risk of infection, blood clots.

So, we need 5-10 Abbot size operations to manufacture tests...this order is something the Feds needs to accomplish, so we can open NY and California mid to late may.

Why does anything bother anyone? It is in perception, not reality, and you know that as well as I do.

By the way, on a different note, both Remdesivir Trials in China were shut down by Gilead (the second was announced as shut down today - 4/15). China claims that there is no one left to participate in the trial, so Gilead cannot sign up enough people. Reality is probably that the Chinese company moved to patent the drug in China after they worked on it with Gilead over the past several years while jointly studying the efficacy for SARS.

Rather than a sign of failure, this likely means that the patent claim of the Chinese company is being supported in China and they will make their own version, while the rest of the world recognizes Gilead's patent claims.

Interestingly, one reason for fewer intubations might be that doctors are rotating patients onto their sides and stomachs to help them increase their oxygen levels. A worthwhile effort considering the low percentage of patients who survive intubation. The doctor quoted here noted that the patient was talking to him and that he should bait have been able to speak given his oxygen levels. So he gave this body rotation therapy an idea.
When to use ventilators in COVID-19 cases? Some Miami doctors rethink their approach

Apparently, there are wildly varying results with Chloroquine/Hydroxychloroquine. Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson was treated with it and she also suffered severe side effects. A study in Brazil had to be called off when patients developed severe heart conditions. Score one more for Dr. Fauci and his medical advice of "caution, it is not a proven treatment and needs more study" approach.

The studies have been consistent. The LA Times article I posted addressed the the extant studies.
