It seems that’s what Napier is choosing, putting his effort in the future instead of a quick fix. I agree with it but he will be coaching for his job in 24 no doubt.

The bottom line is if we don’t have the talent or the experience next year, we are going to get our A’s handed to us.

This isn’t a Mighty Ducks movie where heart produces wins. Napier already got out-coached by lesser teams this past year, now he won’t even have the talent advantage.

I don’t know whether to be just sad at the state of the football program right now, or thankful that at least we’re being given a warning early on that we are about to suck for a very long time, so at least we can prepare to be disappointed

Rashada is likely the best option for that

If we can put a workable offense on the field for him to lead.

Sounds like you’ve put a lot of effort into preparing for disappointment.

If it really is as simple as that, then why are we not just matching their offer?

Because we choose to or cannot afford to pay at the level. We may not think we need to pay them like a star. All it takes is another team with specific needs to make the offer.

Agree and this is what most are talking about. Probably don’t replace White. All conference guards are very rare.

7-5. If not 7-5 and showing progress it allows our opponents to continue to ( yes, they are doing this) negative recruit us.

Most likely we're gonna need some serious portal help to get to that number.

    Yep.
Serious portal help. Was disappointed to see O’Keefe from UCF went to Boston College. Hoping for Weaver from USF. But most concerned about O linemen at this point. Was DL but that changed 3 days ago.

After reading the article, one thought comes to mind; If the older players liked Mullen’s undisciplined, no expectations or accountability approach to running the program, all they needed to do was win a few more games and they would have kept it another year or two.

This article just brings from the horse’s mouth what we have all suspected since Mullen didn’t fire Grantham and others after the 2019 season.

Then those decision makers need to get comfortable with fewer than 10 wins as the standard, recruiting classes outside of the top 10, and praying to get the Peach Bowl just so we can sniff Atlanta. Oh, and forget about winning said Peach Bowl, because as long as our talent feels justified in opting out for the NFL or Portal, expect routine embarrassments in the post season.

Or they can step into the new normal and pay these guys what they’re worth.

For the record, I think the answer to the riddle you pose is “choose not to” versus “cannot afford to.”

There a lot of discussion about everything you just mentioned. I don’t think everyone is on the same page as to how we are to proceed. I hope they find a solution because the status quo sees us losing out on NIL transfers instead taking advantage of it.

its nothing but hearsay. This guy wasn't even on the team when Mullen was here and as far as I can tell wasn’t recruited by UF until Napier arrived. He may not have even met Mullen. It may be true, but its nothing but a cilckbait article that promises juicy details and provides none.
