    Funny you should mention fumbles. I just watched Bud Davis and Seth Varnadore do a very in-depth analysis and pre-view show with some interesting information re Wards turnover numbers and rushing stats:

    Career fumbles: 46 (stratospheric)
    Career interceptions: 26 (not terrible, but not that great either)
    Career sacks: 142 (career sack rate is twice that of the guy he replaced)
    Career Rushing: 339 att. - 269 yards - 0.7935 per carry (speaks for itself)

    Comparing this guy to Jaden Daniels as a runner or a reliable ball handler is beyond ridiculous. He's clearly got plenty of talent and can be dangerous if given time and open receivers. But his on-field performance/results do not support the hype. FTR, both picked UF, with Bud being a bit froggier than Seth with a score of 34-17. Seth didn't posit a score, but he does expect the Gators to win. I do too.

    Watching Seth and Bud now, thanks.

    Bud just said about 10 personnel, "they run it a bit more, around 10% more." Which makes me think of analytics. And makes me think of what Spurrier would do in an age of nearly-infinite data points and analysis.

    We all think he'd throw is clipboard at the nerd and call Emory and Henry. Or maybe he'd say "anything that's an advantage."

    I'm leaning towards the former. I doubt during his time, he did a crazy amount of film watching on opposing defenses. Would love to hear a former player cover this.

    Well, we expect scUM's OL to be better than his previous schools? Nonetheless, good that he's experienced being taken to the mat.

    He was a genius at recognizing defenses. I vividly recalling him say that if executed properly, there is an offensive play that will work against any defense, you just gotta recognize the D and get the into to proper play. That's why he was so insistent that his QB's learned to audible into the correct play.

    They only have one road grading type in the interior, so they better have great technique and do some zone blocking.

    So far, the answer to my original question is no. He looks sharp and the D looks about like last year. O must get off track and D has to get some pressure, or else.
