When they did their internal investigation on the Dobbs leak and came up with nothing (which makes you think it was 100% one of the justices), you know they cant police themselves. That Roberts takes it personal when people question the court's legitimacy makes it even funnier (or sadder). A vile institution unmoored from accountability and the law itself.

apparently they are only accountable to their tribe. the checks and balances within our systems have collapsed with the rise of the tribal allegiances above the allegiances to the constitution.

Thought we just couldn’t wish for another posters death. Are you telling me we can’t wish for Putin’s death as well? DD will be happy to hear that! There are all kind of terrible people who would benefit from an early exit.. not mentioning it doesn’t make it not so and it’s not like I’m encouraging violence. Just asking divine providence to step up to the plate. I assume infirmity that prevents them from mucking thing up is out too?

SMH will take these comments to a less safe space.

Here a good example of how his corruption plays out on the SCOTUS.

I believe they are subject to impeachment but with our tribal loyalties, impeachment is no longer a valid tool. Another gift from the great orange god, increased polarization neutralizing the system of checks and balances set up to control our worst tendencies.

should definitely pack the court but sleazy Sinema and dodgy Manchin are beholden to their corporate donors. Need Gen Z to keep showing up and the aging MAGA voter continue to err - age out quickly.

A fine example to follow-- he is lifetime appointed to a court that interprets our nations laws all the while taking lavish trips with a mega political doner. I'm sure he has not been influenced.
A good example of what I have been saying for a while now, washington is a cesspool of spendthrift politicians that are only concerned about their own wellbeing while the rest of us are grubbing out a living.

The republicans in the 70s had the guts and integrity to impeach Nixon. What the republicans are now is unrecognizable? There is no honor there is no integrity. They don’t care that their leader pays off prostitutes that he slept with. They excuse all. It’s sad.

Sad thing is none of this is explicitly illegal for SCOTUS (as far as I know). But most other justices tried to maintain a modicum of respectability on such matters. Thomas doesn’t even try. He flaunts it.

How do you pack the court with a split congress, and is that really any less partisan and unhealthy than what Thomas has done? And when does court packing end in this environment. Blink and we'll have 21 justices.

The simple fact is that the R's have been smarter at SCOTUS than the D's the past 50 years. Biden could have derailed Thomas and didn't.

Meanwhile Puffs brand D’s nominate 50/50’s like Garland, who just gets GTFOH’d anyway.

It’s no wonder D’s need +7M votes to squeak out a win. They are goofy amateur hour at this game.

more like the R's (McConnell) manipulated the rules to prevent two appointments that would have been on the liberal side. if you want to call that smart, that's fine, but I'll call it manipulative. No idea why the dems allowed it to happen but not educated enough on the procedural hijinks that was involved in preventing the votes and why dems didn't or couldn't do the same

Seems like McD played the game better.
Not saying it was right but sadly that’s how politics has been since the day of politics.

R’s were willing to do things D’s weren’t, because they know demographics are shifting away from them, and the court is their way of holding onto power.

    It needs reform badly.
