Because Macron squandered the entire month of February and didn’t take any meaningful actions until March 16, when the government ordered social distancing. By then it was out of control. He also waited because there was an election on March 15. When you are fighting exponential growth of a disease, every day counts. As we have learned.

In Macron’s defense, most world leaders didn’t do much until mid-March. Like President Trump said a few days ago, did you really expect him to shut down the country when we had like 10 cases? Nobody, except maybe some fringe doctors, would have gone for that. But if you listen to lefties, Trump should have shut her all down and had 20,000,000 tests ready by mid-Feb.

China revises up Wuhan death toll as US plots re-opening

The Chinese city at the origin of the coronavirus outbreak revised up its death toll by 50 percent Friday, as global criticism mounted over China's handling of the deadly pandemic.

Since emerging from Wuhan late last year, the coronavirus has embarked on a deadly march across the planet, killing more than 140,000 people and wrecking the global economy as half of humanity is trapped indoors.

While President Donald Trump announced a phased re-opening of the United States, the economic devastation was clear to see in China where gross domestic product slammed into reverse for the first time since records began.

And Wuhan's city government added 1,290 deaths to its toll, bringing the total to 3,869 after many dead were "mistakenly reported" or missed entirely, adding to growing global doubts over China's transparency.

That graph provided earlier in the thread speaks volumes. Picture our hospitals if we had not enacted significant stay at home measures. A lot more cities would look more like NY. I can’t fathom how anyone is arguing it couldn’t have gotten out of control without real action.

To be clear, I want to get things opened back up. I’m on furlough. I’ve got two more weeks of it coming in May and June. But we’ve got to get the testing going to support it so that hospitals my wife, son, niece and sister in law work in don’t get swamped.

It is easy to fathom. Play the results of the measures taken and call the reaction an overreaction. Then argue we will never know what the results would have been.

China says sudden jump in Wuhan coronavirus death toll is due to statistical verification, not cover up

"CHINA SAYS SUDDEN JUMP IN WUHAN CORONAVIRUS DEATH TOLL IS DUE TO STATISTICAL VERIFICATION, NOT COVER UP"

"A senior Chinese official has defended a sudden increase in the coronavirus death toll in the central city of Wuhan, putting the spike down to standard statistical analysis and once again denying any suggestion of a cover-up."

Yeah right, if you believe that I have some beachfront property here to sell you in Oklahoma.

Does that come with striper fishing. I had a great day up there for Ac retirement party about 15 years ago. Damn I’m getting old.

Spoonbill fishing is popular here. They say the caviar that is made from their eggs rivals the best caviar in the world.

So, does the ever-increasing body count in Wuhan support or refute the "OVERREACTION" crowd? It seems that those two subjects are somehow both pets of that segment of society, although they would seem to conflict with one another.
