If you listen to that pod cast regularly that you linked to, you would know your answer. They have covered it repeatedly on there.

I was travelling back through China shortly after the avian bird flu epidemic. It was amazing how much China, Japan and Korea poured into mitigation, even if much of it is of limited value, of disease, particularly those of a respiratory nature. They decided any amount of benefit was worth it.

In the US, you have people who swear they are dying because they have to wear a mask to go in a store. In some Asian countries you are not allowed out of your house without a mask under penalty of fine or arrest. Additionally, many people in China, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong have been wearing masks for years because of pollution, let alone disease.

Obviously many more factors to it than those, but in short, Americans are whiny, selfish and willing to be led by someone who promotes selfishness and self-centered thinking.

Yeah, that was me. We got to 100k cases in a day even faster than I thought we would. The sad thing is that we will soon be seeing many more deaths because of it. There is a very direct correlation between cases and deaths.

An animation show why masks work.

@QGator2414 check out the quote (in bold) in the first paragraph. You'll appreciate it :)

Masks Work. Really. We’ll Show You How.
By Or Fleisher, Gabriel Gianordoli, Yuliya Parshina-Kottas, Karthik Patanjali, Miles Peyton and Bedel SagetOct. 30, 2020

The public health debate on masks is settled, said Joseph G. Allen, director of the Healthy Buildings program at Harvard. When you wear a mask, “You protect yourself, you protect others, you prevent yourself from touching your face,” he said. And you signal that wearing a mask is the right thing to do.

With coronavirus cases still rising, wearing a mask is more important than ever. In this animation, you will see just how effective a swath of fabric can be at fighting the pandemic.

Florida has eliminated state testing sites throughout the state. And don’t believe the numbers here.

Nobody believes this. And it doesn’t make your misunderstanding of numbers and statistics any more credible. But, congratulations that people are actually responding to you again.

no they don’t. Zero reason that nationally we have anything but 35 as the minimum level to say a Covid positive test.

so I am sure you can provide proof, showing how many sites were open each day, how many you say are shut down now, or are you just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks, lets see the proof.

True - common sense, humility, and unselfishness go a long way. Traits we need in the good ole USA.

It’s funny how we have a record number of new cases, but not nearly as much discussion. I guess that’s because we’d have to discuss the explosion in France, Germany and the UK. The former two, especially, where libs declared victory over the virus and said the US should be more like them.

Fining and arresting people for not wearing a mask? Doesn't sound much like common sense.

What's left to discuss? Everyone is so entrenched in their way of thinking... I barely skim the covid threads anymore.
