isn't it amazing how otherwise intelligent people will believe almost anything to avoid blaming a Democrat, or to stick with the "Orange man bad, Democrat- good" narrative.
They can't admit that putting COVID patients into nursing homes was a bad decision, even though the 2 states that did this have the highest per capita death rate by far, and it's not even close. (NJ's is 1.8% of the population, NY is 1.7%. In contrast Fl is not even 1/2 of 1%.)

Could they just say- it was a difficult time and NY/ NJ was getting hit hard, and mistakes were made?
Nahh- cause then someone might use the same logic to Trump's mistakes, and then they couldn't blame him as much.
OH- and then Cuomo wouldn't be the savior.

Tribal thinking is so dangerous- this is a great example as to why.

It's been said, by me and others. In fact, the last time I said this, some even gave me a "come on man".

Mandated to be returned to isolation wards by many states. NY didn't shut down the visitors fast enough and unfortunately for them they got to go first. Before treatment protocols were advanced, before testing of employees was available, before asym spread was understood. Florida and others have documented the direct relationship between community spread and nursing home infections

They sent COVID patients to be housed with the most vulnerable. At that time they knew who was dying from the virus and who was most at risk. What are we going to say now, it's okay to send pedophiles to elementary schools and then make excuses for our extremely poor dumb decisions? You just don't do it. Anyone with half a brain backs off, but not Whitmer, Murphy, Cuomo, Newsom & friends. As I pointed out earlier, dumbs Cuomo is writing a book to tell all about handling a pandemic. Same guy who needed 25,000 ventilators and a boat with 1,000 beds. The mayor of NYC is so bad dems hate his guts. You get what you vote for.

My son told me last night he was at a restaurant in midtown gville last night and there is zero distancing inside or out. Line outside waiting to get in. No masks, no care at all.
He was hired as a doorman today after a brief interview with the owner. the owner has him doing temp checks at the door, etc. but based on his observations once inside it’s basically a nightclub.

That is correct. But it isn't an excuse. Same way it got in homes in every other state

today new cases up a little, 50,455 but from 850,000 tests, a less than 6% positive rate.monthly averages for august from covid19 tracking, average of 712,562 tests daily with average of 50,367 new cases for a 7.1% positive rate.overall since the start of compiling numbers the positive rate is about7.9%, so, you can see the steady downturn.

Again, science is not so simple, and correlation does not equal to causation. Transmission within healthcare facilities from known positive cases is EXTREMELY rare. In fact, I have yet to hear of a confirmed case. Granted I haven't been actively looking for it, but working on the frontlines I certainly hear a lot of COVID stories, and if any positive patient had transmitted the disease to another patient or a staff, you can bet that word will travel fast.

The vast, VAST majority of cases where contact tracing was able to confirm the line of transmission has been from UNKNOWN positives. That is, either people who are asymptomatic, or symptomatic but didn't take proper precautions are the primary known transmitters of the disease.

I have little love for Cuomo, and I think a lot of the crap he pulled BEFORE the pandemic and before the lockdown contributed greatly to the death toll in NY. De Blasio is simply a moron who made everything that much worse. With that said, science thus far simply does not support the assertion that known positives within nursing facilities as a significant contributor to nursing facility outbreaks.

I went and watched my granddaughter play in a middle school softball tournament today. They required everyone to wear a mask and social distance in the stands. The umpires and coaches had masks but the players didn't while they were playing but did before and after the game.

can you see a possibility where players get it from each other and then unknowingly infect their families later?

did not read the story did you? It was the republican governor reporting the results of the contract tracing done with information provided by the members of the church. reading is fundamental
