Now multiple that scenario 1000's of times by sending kids back to school. We all know very well there will be parents that are sick that will dump their kid off at school so the parent can get some rest.
Sure compare away. They got hit first so they are further along. In general they(the people) are more likely to follow what the Gov says to do. They also have a much higher mortality rate so not sure that we want to follow them that closely.
There is a reasonable explanation for the higher mortality rate in the EU compared with the US as well as the higher mortality rate in New York compared with the "red states" that prematurely opened up their economies in response to bullying from Trump. Since the early days of the pandemic (March and April) medical science has learned a lot regarding treatment of seriously ill Covid patients resulting lower mortality. I suspect that if mortality rates were limited to patients who became infected in May and June, the US and European mortality rates would be very similar and also let's not forget that exponentially more Americans became infected in those months than did residents of European countries. It also seem that with competent leadership states like Florida, Arizona and Texas would have learned the lessons of states like New York and New Jersey. Instead of following the advice of the CDC and other experts in virology and epidemiology, the governors of those states elected to follow the advice of that esteemed scientist and public health expert Dr. Trump. The problem was exacerbated by Dr. Trump's position of the wearing of masks, noting that the stable genius actually defined the wearing of masks as political and ridiculed reporters who wore masks. And yes at one point Dr. Fauci did state that wearing mask was unnecessary. He also long since changed the position while Trump continued to define the practice as political.
Balanced with the news NY had 0 deaths... Coronavirus updates: Trump RTs tweet saying CDC 'lies' about COVID; NYC reports zero deaths for first time since March John BaconElinor Aspegren USA TODAY As the pandemic reached new highs in Florida and across the world, New York City provided a glimmer of hope: zero deaths for the first time in four months. Total confirmed cases across the nation surpassed 3.3 million – about 1% of all Americans have now tested positive since the outbreak began racing across the nation just a few months ago. More than 135,000 Americans have died. In Washington, President Donald Trump showed little faith in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, retweeting a social media post accusing the agency of "outrageous lies.". COVID-19: New York City reports no deaths; Florida sets daily record
Seems a bit contrived.... just before he died... I guess he wasn't intubated and sedated... For the record you can't speak when you are intubated.
You really think the doctor made the story up? here is another hoax dude in his 30's that died from it. No joke, no hoax Richard Rose: Ohio Man Dies of COVID-19 After Saying Masks Were Hype | News Break
Yes, people under 54 will die of Covid-19, but they are very few and far between. Tragedy for those families who do though. Unless you can show valid numbers showing increases on percentages of those under 54 dying, then you are just using a one off example. Last I saw 242 people 54 and under if Florida have died of Covid-19 out of 144,210 in that age group. That is an extremely small percentage.
Yep. IF you are on the unlucky ones who contracts Covid-19 and you're under 54, you then have a 1 in 600 chance of dying. Wear your masks, social distance. Beyond that, people are expending way too much mental energy for something you would have to try to die from. Suffice to say a great many of that 1 in 600 people under 54 who died likely had some pre-existing condition. So, for folks like me, under 54, good health, I have a better chance of dying from this:
I prefer the scenario that Hillary in conjunction with China set this loose on the world to deprive DT of re-election. HeyLG, you got this all figured out, you been going to let’s catch Covid 19 parties? Attitudes like yours are easily manifested in statistics - 65,000 and rising per day. You must be proud.
There's been a very consistent pattern of Sunday, lowest deaths, Monday, second lowest deaths, and Tuesday, highest deaths. If that holds, we can expect around 1k deaths tomorrow, based on the trends.
It's unfortunate that you have to make up lies about another poster, in attempt to score some cheap points. I would never go to a Covid party. That's just dumb. I don't tempt fate. At the same time, I do go out during thunderstorms if I need to go somewhere. That said, if I get the virus, why would I panic?
I actually say an article about that very topic last week, I'll take a look and see if I can find it.
That was always the point though. Once we started ramping up test, the death rate would go down. The craziest part is there are likely millions who will never be tested that had it.
You left out one key point why we have a lower mortality rate..... much younger people are getting it and they are being far more carless about going out while sick. Lets see what happens in 4 weeks after NYC has been open. Lets hope the older and highest risk stay home as much as possible. They can control their own exposure or lack their of.
Anyone who answers your question with anything other than "I don't know, but until I do, I would have to at least say it is possible" is probably lying or purely guessing. That said, all 4 experts on the podcast were mentioning that this is likely the natural ability of the virus to defeat out immune systems ability to mount a long term defense. Kind of like Dengue Fever or even other Corona viruses where humans do not develop long term, durable immunity. They were pretty clear, however, that 1) people can and do get other viruses more than once (chicken pox) under special circumstance (meaning exceptions do not define the full distribution) and 2) that this does not mean that vaccine will not be able to provide long term, durable immunity. They simply do not know, therefore WE do not know. And, considering how little I know, that is as thorough of an answer as I can muster to your question.
