Oh, so you aren't taking standard weekly variation into account (through the use of 7 day moving averages or comparing same days of the week) and comparing the peak to the trough? I am sure you will be here on Tuesday to let us know that the deaths just doubled, like they did last Tuesday as well. Since you aren't being at all intellectually dishonest at all...

Man, you don’t take a beat well at all. A simple sorry would’ve sufficed. If/when the numbers go up, you will be the first to post them I’m sure. Now you are saying “His numbers are right, but I don’t like them” routine. Funny stuff.

Projection. You posted numbers without knowing what it was and now are trying to argue around it. Take the L (you should be used to it by now). And no, I didn't run here to say that the numbers jumped by double last Tuesday from last Monday because I am smart enough to know about weekly reporting variation and that would be intellectually dishonest. Apparently, you have no knowledge of such things or are just pretending not to understand weekly reporting variance because it isn't convenient to your argument. So either you need to educate yourself on how reporting works before commenting (especially if you are going to be aggressively wrong) or stop being intellectually dishonest.

Using statistics reported on a holiday to calculate percent change from the peak day makes zero sense.

Someone might want to look up “mean reversion’ to see what is probable over the next few days.

What about nice reversion. There’s an abundance of mean in the discussion already. Arguing with folks that love a straw man is pointless and this poster has an affinity for hay.

Sounds a lot like FSU fans after another beat down...

Keep making excuses. Deaths are down. Be happy for once.

so deaths are “only” down 85% from their highs? Come on man. I guess some like being negative permanently, or at least until Biden wins in November.

Took it easy today because it’s hot, but did a stretch of the Potomac I hadn’t done before. It’s actually inside the beltway, started at turkey run and went east.

Yeah I mean, the gloom and doomers can spin it all they want, but we’ve obviously made some great headway in crippling this virus. Either that or it has mutated into something that is more easily treatable.

You’re not going to stop the spread now. The same CDC is saying about 10% of the country already has it. Most of them do not know they have it. The cat is out of the bag.

How badly has partisan politics infected our discussion? Nothing means anything anymore.

Ernst: Obama 'Failed' On Ebola But Trump Is 'Stepping Forward' On COVID-19

Edit - I don't want to edit or delete this because it'd look like I was trying to hide my mistake. But note that TPM's story is incorrect. Ernst did not criticize Obama in the video.
    My apologies.

They’re going to let this narrative go about as quickly as they did the Russia narrative. Oh wait.. they’re still fantasizing about Russia.

Can you point out the statement from the CDC where they say that 10% of the country currently has Covid?

Well done on the troll. He has taken the bait. I think I’m going to go sit in a corner and reflect on my life now that I know deaths are only down 75% and not 90%. The apocalypse is clearly upon us.

that’s what I’m thinking/hoping. It mutated into a more contagious but less lethal strain.

You can choose whatever emotional reaction you want. I just prefer accuracy in reporting. If you want to see the difference between caring about accuracy and not caring about accuracy, read the early part of this thread...

This post IMO is part of the problem. It seems your partisanship made you overlook the nonsense of this "issue."

I watched the video twice. Ernst never mentions Obama or Ebola. WTF? Further, she did everything she could to not praise Trump & IMO never praised him...just gave some lukewarm acknowledgement when pressed. So, the entirety of the first para is a lie followed with an exaggeration. Here it is.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) on Sunday bashed former President Barack Obama’s handling of Ebola, a viral disease that two Americans died from, but praised President Trump’s response to the coronavirus as cases surge in several cities.

Gotta admire the balls of embedding a video that contradicts the first very first sentence.
