Another fallacy within your line of thought is that the elderly are only picking up this virus by being around people that go to bars and that's not true. If they are not self-isolating, they are asking for trouble.
You can't isolate unless you also isolate everybody that has contact with the elderly (i.e., doctors, medical care, delivery people, household assistance, etc.) to help them survive. If they have contact with people who have contact with people, they aren't isolated. There is a reason that over 50% of deaths in Florida are in nursing homes. None of them are equipped to go full bubble and none of them have.
What are you talking about? If someone who is at serious risk of Covid19, then they should be using N95 or KN95 masks for their protection as well as gloves. That's what I've instructed my uncle to do who is 75. The KN95 masks and gloves protect him when he's at the store. He doesn't frequent bars or other crowded areas. Life isn't fair and some people need to be more diligent than others.
Good thing N95s are in great supply. It isn't like Amazon has none, Home Depot has none, Wal Mart has none, etc. I am sure seniors are going to be adept at sorting through sketchy medical supply websites claiming to have some and handing them the hundreds of dollars it is currently costing to obtain a package of N95s.
KN95 Masks For Sale (Certified) - Buy KN95 Masks Online Easy to find. They are readily available. KN95 masks are very close to N95 masks in effectiveness. Oops. Try again for another talking point.
A fallacy in your thinking is you totally missed my point. But carry on. You’ve got it all figured out.
So assuming that Covcare isn't a medical supply scam, which is a big assumption (especially given their somehow perfect reviews when nothing online has actually perfect reviews), when do they arrive?
Dude, google KN95 masks. They are available from many different vendors. My mom who is 78 is better at this than you evidently.
What am i being cavalier about? That this is something we have to learn to live with? Get over it and move on. When you go in a store, wear a mask. If you are elderly or immune suppressed, take more precautions. It's not that hard.
Sure, medical supply scams are known for their rarity. I assume that you fully trust the company that was formed...this year...by a guy who ran a small jersey company and has literally perfect reviews. Sounds totally legit and your 78 year old mother I am sure will be terrific at figuring out who is and isn't a scam in the sketchy world of medical suppliers. Good call. Weird how companies like that have access to masks but Amazon and Wal Mart don't. Why do you suppose that is? Think Amazon and Wal Mart aren't good at finding supplies of products that people clearly want?
Interesting, BlueFlame (the medical PPE provider set up by a GOP lobbyist) is blaming all their failures on their bank. I hope this gets far enough into the process that they have to reveal details about how they were set up and where they were getting their PPE from. Blue Flame Medical Files 10-Count Lawsuit Against Chain Bridge Bank, N.A. and Its Senior Officers
For reference, here is a partial list of their failures: Pallone and DeGette Send Letter to Blue Flame Medical LLC Demanding Answers on COVID-19 Contracts “The serious consequences stemming from PPE shortages are pushing states and localities to turn to new and unproven companies with limited experience in the medical supply industry to supply this critical medical equipment,” Pallone and DeGette wrote. “[Blue Flame] purports to be ‘one of the largest global network [sic] of COVID-19 medical suppliers’ and reportedly supplies ventilators, respirators, COVID-19 test kits, surgical masks, and other hard to find types of PPE. Yet, despite claiming to have ‘only the highest quality of product delivered with the fastest service,’ Blue Flame has reportedly failed to fulfill multiple orders placed by state and local entities working closely on the pandemic response.” The Committee’s inquiry follows a series of alarming reports, including: The State of Maryland terminated a $12.5 million contract with Blue Flame because the company failed to deliver 1.5 million N95 masks and 110 ventilators on the timeline promised; The Melbourne Florida Police Department demanded a full refund from Blue Flame after the company failed to fulfill the Department’s order; Blue Flame abruptly canceled most of an order placed by a non-profit that runs medical clinics for the economically disadvantaged in Los Angeles County the day before the order was due—leaving the non-profit without the thousands of masks, gowns and bottles of hand sanitizer it was expecting to receive; and The State of California canceled an agreement with Blue Flame for 100 million N95 masks at a cost of over $456 million after the state’s bank flagged the transaction as risky, forcing the state to find other suppliers.
No, no, no. We have the blame the 30-something Trumpers out there carousing and whooping it up at the bars.
I ordered some from a link @gator95 gave me. It was a different company though (Honest PPE Supply) and they arrived within 3 days of ordering. Got some sanitizing wipes too since they are impossible to find in person.
