While of course I agree, this just shows how far the goalposts have been moved. For many, early on, the thought of 100 per day, or 36500 in a year, was unthinkable. Now it's what we are hoping for going forward.

Because they stayed shut until the numbers were low. They didn’t make the decision made in Florida that the however many cases and deaths there are were worth avoiding another 30 days of economic hardship. Follow the leadership of the GOP. They lose if they deal with the virus. So they are rolling the dice with everyone else. That’s why cases have been exploding in Florida. Because we opened too soon and people are too stupid to social distance and wear masks.

Anti-maskers are starting to look like anti-vaxxers at this point. Cherry picking facts, ignoring science, and choosing selfishness over the public good.

FWIW both mayors are Dems. In their ‘reopening’ press conferences they looked tepid.

As in they weren’t really thrilled about reopening to begin with.
As of this AM both are mandating masks while indoors.

Not so long ago the surgeon general did not recommend the mask.

Walking around my neighborhood last week and one of my neighbors (Asst AD at GT) has a sign by his mailbox that read "In this house, we believe in Science".
Think about that. That is a thing now to say you believe in actual facts and science because it isn't a given.
    The dumbing down of America.

Perhaps impeachedpotus had convinced him it was all just going away in a couple of weeks anyway.

It's truly sad and scary how many ignorant people there are. I used to think it was more a fringe element. The previous election and last four years have become a real eye-opener for how bad it is.

He is a Trump appointee. So more than likely he is woefully unqualified or has to preach the company line.

Made it back to Tettegouche state park yesterday. It’s been dry here so the falls showed less volume. This is the highest fall in MN (60’).

Then he did recommend them and people still balk. I've noticed this trend where they say "so and so didn't tell me to do this in X month" but when that so and so does tell them to they still reject it. I have zero doubt that if the WHO, CDC, the Surgeon General, and the reanimated corpse of Ignaz Semmelweis had said to do this from the beginning we would still have a large contingent of mask truthers.
