In what ways is this virus like the flu?

Does this look anything like the flu @flgator2 ?

I don't think so. And it's not even an apples to apples comparison since flu deaths are estimates using a multiplier based on cases (you can find the methodology on the CDC website). The relative number of confirmed flu deaths--i.e. the apples to apples comparison--is far smaller than the estimated number of deaths. It honestly baffles me that at this late date you hang on to this misguided idea.

    Imagine not doing a thing?

Though you asked for an answer, I doubt you'll get one. Those crazy facts simply run too contrary of the Pub narrative --- therefore must be Fake News.

Yes it does, remember the flu has been around over 100 years, so those who are healthy usually don't die from the flu and most have been exposed to the flu already. So this is a lot like the flu in the way it spreads and who is effected the most by it. This will be like most of the other virus.
I've never said to no to do anything, you know that.

Imagine how many fellow Americans wouldn't be out of work if everybody wouldn't have overacted

It is incredible people equate this to the flu. I have no idea how this is still a thought. Ignorance? Blind allegiance to a party? Horrible sources of information?

Certainly the extra million or so that would have died would be out of work.

It spreads considerably faster than the flu and has a higher death rate. Neither of these are opinion, both are factual.

Or perhaps gaining some sick satisfaction from getting people riled up. It may be best to not indulge that satisfaction.

It's incredible people don't see how this spreads like the flu. I guess it's ignorance or crappy info.

Well, it's a virus that spreads like most viruses. It has a different R0 and likely a higher mortality rate though.

What are you his mom, his big boy.
I really believe this spreads just like the flu and I haven't once ever been concerned and see no reason to be.

Lol, ok. But it also mainly attacks the elderly, obese and those with underlying conditions like the flu, the biggest difference is the flu has been around over 100 years so most have already been exposed to it.

Yes, infections hit people that are elderly, obese, or have preexisting conditions harder. So it is similar to the flu in that both are infections?
