They just want people to watch their channel. Greta gets the left and right to tune in. I'll be nice but she irritates me.

They can't, that's what I have been sayin'. They are following the Fox News model, catering to the biases of their audience that has exploded since they went away from hard news and on to 24/7 Trump.

How can someone be this stupid? Better question, how could someone support someone this stupid.

Don’t test and you won’t have cases???

I think about what I’d accomplished at 17 without having a disability and I’m inclined to cut her some slack.

It’s hilarious that people who are not outraged by a labradoodle breeder and the President’s son-in-law handling the Government response to a pandemic are wound up about a teenager appearing on TV.

As a proud labradoodle dad I’m saddened by their association with the clown show.

Honestly - Do folks really believe there was a plan put together in 2018 and printed up in a pretty binder and they waited for 85,000 dead Americans before having Mcenany hold it up by a chopper?

Did their plan say “When Navarro warns of a possible half million lost lives, wait a couple months before ramping up PPE?”

Did it have a section on bleach?

Did it recommend having the President’s son in law recruiting young volunteer consultant types with no experience to pursue PPE and then don’t give them .gov e-mail addresses so people they were reaching out to could tell they were someone other than todd@gmail.com?

Did it say have the CDC write guidelines for how to reopen safely, then shelve them for edits so they could be watered down?

Was there a section recommending having the President repeatedly praise the President of the country that unleashed the virus?

Did it recommend not checking on the strategic stockpile and assessing its readiness for months after your intel agencies were giving you warnings about the potential scope of the problem?

Did the plan say that the timing of reopening should be connected to beautiful full churches on Easter?

Did the plan call for putting a guy with strong religious right bonafides in charge of the CDC and hope he doesn’t jack up creation of a test too bad when you need it?

    This is ludicrous.

    Mcenany by the chopper...

"The Obama/Biden plan that has been referenced was insufficient, wasn't going to work. So what our administration did under the leadership of President Trump was do an entire 2018 pandemic preparedness report. Beyond that we did a whole exercise on pandemic preparedness in August of last year, and had an entire after action report put together. In other words, the Obama/Biden paper packet was superseded by a President Trump style pandemic preparedness response book."

I am the same way, but I don't delude myself into thinking we can open everything back up without seeing a lot more cases and deaths. The more social interaction there is, the more cases and deaths there will be. Some on this board (not you of course) don't seem to understand that.

I'm not sure why you guys don't wait until the end of the day to post about numbers in particular states. Texas ended up at 1273 new cases today, continuing its steady rise.

To be fair, what he is trying to say in his tortured way is the reason the US has the most cases is because the US does the most testing. But that's not even close to being true on a per capita basis.

another positive day to continue the streak. although there were 26,481 new cases, still 3,000 less than any previous thursday, plus had 367,000 tests, 2nd most ever so high new cases was possible. deaths at 1704, again lowest of any thursday by more than 4,000. some states arer still going up, but many more are going down, thus the drop in numbers each day, hope the increased testing numbers continue to increase.

Fair enough. Cheap shot on my part.

I do think, and I’m saying this dispassionately, you get too caught up in making sense of day to day numbers. In any workplace folks miss deadlines. These counts won’t come in reliably and evenly. Look at them over time and don’t sweat the finite detail. My apologies for being an ass.

What do you mean by "deaths at 1704, lowest of any Thursday by more than 4,000"?
