apparently changed his mind smdh Mike Pence will not self-quarantine and plans to be at the White House Monday Vice President Mike Pence is not planning to enter self-quarantine after his press secretary tested positive for coronavirus on Friday and plans to be at the White House on Monday, his office said on Sunday.
C'mon Mutz. None of them are saying that. I get that it was handled poorly in January and Feb, but this is May. No one in the White House or any Governors mansion thinks this is the Flu. I get the whole mask debate as well...but even that has nothing to do with the flu. When has Pence played "tough guy"? Pence strikes me, if anything, as too nice to be in his role. I don't get the animus towards Pence.
WTF are Republicans smoking? I've always maintained that Im conservative leaning economically and liberal on social issues but Republicans have lost their mind. With the backhanded comments about people wanting more stimulus relief (saying things like, "people in hell want pop-cycles" or something close to it) and now proposing we take a loan out on our social security? Republicans are playing a dangerous game here and their prize is getting out of the white house. Trump needs to push a stimulus quick if he wants a chance at reelection. Proposal: $5,000 Stimulus Check In Exchange For Slightly Delayed Social Security Benefits
I guess being a PA and not a hospital employee I fell through the cracks. Many of the PA's and Doctors didn't get them.
Being in my late 30's I'd take that all day seeing as how I'll likely never get a penny out of social security.
I was a PA and not an employee of the hospital, quite a few Doctors and PA's didn't get them, it wasn't even an issue.
Not self-quarantining when an aide that you interacted with (probably a fair amount) tests positive? On the mask front, apparently they told a bunch of business people he met with on Friday, after she tested positive and they removed 6 people from the trip due to exposure, to take their masks off before meeting him. Both seem like not treating this very seriously. CEOs, Farm Bureau President Told To Remove Face Masks Before Meeting With Mike Pence | HuffPost
I don't necessarily disagree, outside of he is doing his job. But he doesn't strike me as a "tough" guy.
But man, the mask thing is all over the map. My dad's own pulmonary doctor at Duke told him NOT to wear one. The reason was case specific I assume, but it is all over the map.
There will be case specific people who shouldn't wear masks (people who are, frankly higher risk if they get Covid, because they have pulmonary issues). That is actually another reason to wear one to lower the risk for those who can't. However, clearly, you shouldn't be telling CEOs that were wearing them (partially as an example for their employees that are being forced by government mandate to work) to take them off.
I have no reason to disagree. I just am saying that perhaps doctors were involved in the decision making. But yes, in general I agree they should be taking the lead.
He definitely isn't a tough guy, he is a roll over and show you his belly guy. He is willing to do and say anything Trump asks him to do. Even it involves lying to Americans.
You think that Doctors told 4 different people from different companies that showed up wearing masks that they should take them off and that the Doctor got to them just before the VP met with them, against CDC guidance with no indication of health problems (especially not for all 4 of them)? Seems pretty unlikely.
After reading the article it doesn't seem like such a bad idea. It is like taking money out of your 401-K. It is voluntary and if you take the money you would basically have to work 3 months longer before you retire.
No. I think White house doctors may have been involved and made a decision for everyone. I do not claim to know the reason. I just don't jump to the conclusion that the VPOTUS does not care about people.
