This. Also in the interview with Catsimatidis he said:

    "It's an evolving situation"
"It isn't something the American Public needs to worry about because we have ways of preparing, of screening of people coming in, and responding (like the one person in Seattle) who have traveled and brought back the infection."

That to me is a huge deal. We absolutely DID NOT rely on these procedures. We strictly barred entry to foreign nationals that had traveled to China in the 2 weeks proceeding the travel ban. There was an enourmous number of people that were allowed to travel from there. They weren't tested, they weren't quarantine.

Then when the European travel restrictions hit while Italy was burning we did an insanely piss poor job of handling the massive influx of US citizens returning home. Same deal as before. No testing, no quarantines.

so trump is damned if he does, damned if the does not. if he listened to fauci in january saying not to worry he is wrong, if he reacts to late he is wrong, lets put fauci under the spotlight, after all he is the expert and said in january dont worry people.

Trump is not the American public. Trump, as our president, would be one of the people who was supposed to be preparing and keeping watch.

He didn’t listen to Faucci at any point. Faucci’s comments to were the American people, not administration. The whole quote which has been posted multiple times in this thread added that health professionals are taking it very seriously and monitoring the situation closely. Also that it it’s quickly evolving. Also that there’s little to worry about if precautions were taken, precautions that Trump did not put in motion.

It's really shameful how media take things out of context. For example the "low risk" statement above was followed with "But it’s something that we as public health officials need to take very seriously."

Why do you think "RealClearPolitics" omitted that portion of Fauci's statement? More from the same piece . . .
You see it's really easy to take a part of someone's quote and make it appear that they are only presenting one particular viewpoint when indeed, there was more. ;)

Do you think Fauci is where he got "15 cases down to 0", or "it will disappear like a miracle", or "it's just the next democrat hoax"? Pretty sure those were all his own originals, a scientist like Fauci would never feed a President such nonsense - Fauci was being scientific about it, waiting for the data to come in.

I don't think we know exactly what Fauci was telling the White House, this is just what he was saying publicly - that it was not yet time for the public to panic. Do you think Fauci should have been ahead of the administration telling everyone to shut down immediately and start panicking?

We do know that Peter Navarro was warning people inside the White House. Not a fan of that guy, but to his credit he seemed to be right on top of this thing - predicting a possible million+ deaths and trillions of economic damage. I would assume he was getting his info from people in the CDC and medical community who were raising the red flags (perhaps many people in the "Red Dawn" email chain, which I recommend you peruse). I'm sure Fauci was aware of all those conversations, perhaps internally Fauci was pushing harder than he was publicly?

=i am going to stop posting anything remotely pro trump because 90% of the people here hate him so much it is a automatic dislike, just as any post criticizing any one else is also a automatic dislike.

Post whatever you want but you never ever back up anything you post (or pick small parts of quotes and articles to fit your narrative) and that's the problem.

Also you give automatic "come on mans" to posts against Trump. It's a two way street and you aren't a victim.

like i said, 90% will give pro trump posts negative ratings, just being equal. also, in january fauci should have said, in his opinion as a medical professional, on the record, that they were very worried about the virus, not that people had little to be afraid about.he is not the be all and end all in this, he should have spoken more candidlly about the medical communitys fears, but people would blame trump no matter what.

On February 18th the seasonal flu was much more dangerous for the average Joe. In no way shape or form did Fauci ever predict how it would end up. He addressed things that were happening in that moment. He wasn't downplaying a damn thing. That's the difference between Fauci and Trump. Trump repeatedly tried to predict the future on this thing and ended up being wrong over and over again.

Come on @OklahomaGator using these partisan sites when there are actual sources out there is shameful. Let the quotes speak for themselves.

He specifically said they were watching the ever evolving situation very carefully. He told the US people not to worry because our government had policies in place that would protect us. He was correct, but we didn't use those policies. We failed. Who is the leader of the USA? Is it Fauci? No, it's not. He can only recommend and advise. Donald Trump himself stated this

Now, who should take responsibility and shoulder blame?

Apparently, IHME is about to make a major increase in their projected deaths. The new point estimate for total deaths will be 135,000. They are attributing the change to the premature relaxation of social distancing in some places, that was not built into their model, and cases increasing faster than they thought in the Midwest. Their website hasn't been updated to account for this, but they are apparently holding a PC on this.

question, if trump had been pro-active from the start, done everything people wanted him to do, how many people would still be against him, saying he should have seen it coming, you know there is a section of people that will never give him credit for anything.
