Unless he is getting tested every single there is no way he knows if he has it or not. The VP of the US comes in contact with a lot of people every day.

I would imagine he has been tested many times, and probably before he leaves to go anywhere and comes back from anywhere in public. Like I said though he should of been wearing one.

Most podium speakers do not wear masks. I am guessing so they can be heard clearly on TV, no?

Do as I say, not as I do. You learn that in all the great leadership courses. Atta boy Pence. You don't need no stinkin' mask. o_O

This administration just insists on demonstrating how out of touch they are with what is going on in the world.

In response to a question today Trump said they'll be up to 5 million tests a day soon. In what world does anyone see that happening soon. I will throw a giant party and bring the Lysol for everyone if it happens, but there is nothing that suggest it is on the horizon.

The VP won't comply with the hospitals rule about wearing a mask and is pictured as the only one of ten folks by a patient's bed without a mask. The President makes a preposterous claim that we'll be at 5 million tests a day soon.

    Just another day in kindergarten.

Just another Trump lie. We are testing 200-300 thousand per day right now. I could be wrong but I don't think we will ever be at a point where we can test 5 million per day. I don't think we have the medical/lab infrastructure for that.

I don't think anyone is downplaying or arguing the potential danger but more the procedural aspect of it. Why would you allow someone to come into contact with another person who is immunocompromised without strict precautions? Would you allow them to come into contact with someone with TB, Meningitis, MRSA or any flu or cold for that matter. COVID-19 is not your only concern so precautions are required even after COVID-19 is long gone. How many pneumonia deaths are preventable every year if proper precautions were taken for those most vulnerable? I'm sure there isn't anyone on this thread that has ever visited someone, while sick, who was vulnerable health wise. Everyone may just think twice about that now but many in the past probably never gave it much thought. We all need to do our part to protect those who are most vulnerable......at all times!

They still need food, care, housework done, medical visits etc etc. I’d not just friends and family. And if you don’t know you’re sick, that’s a whole other issue.

So . . . selective information sharing is what you propose? They have a place for that.

Very much understood but there are still many precautions that can and need to be taken during all of those activities. Forget COVID......how many pneumonia deaths are potentially preventable if precautions would have been taken during the above activities? But now with COVID these types of deaths are an issue. Why weren't they an issue before? Hopefully lives will be saved in the future by taking more stringent precautions and being more aware.

oops, my math is a little off. 5000 a month would be 160-170 a day , not 1600-1700, my bad.

Probably makes much more sense to compare weeks of data than just one particular day over a 4 week period.
