No, he just suggested that if we could somehow inject disinfectants into the body, it might work.

Desperate for a win? Distributed talking points to force division? ...all targeted at those that choose to get their news from right wing websites.

Consider the people in nursing homes with end-stage diseases, dementia, cancer etc. If they got COVID and passed 1,2,3,6 months earlier there actually could be a savings(dare I type that).

Cuomo blew it. Should have called it two weeks earlier. Would he have been willing to join a national position put forward by a POTUS that had even more info available than Cuomo did? Unfortunately we will never have an answer to that question.

It is not our failures that defines us, it is how we respond to them. One responded as a leader and one responded as a cheerleader. Cuomo needs to own late call and political pressure that influenced his call

Correct. The shutdown would have helped NYC more if implemented at the same time. Don't underestimate use of public transport in Seattle

Fair enough how did LA county shut down only 2 days before NYC and not have the issue?

Not trying to be pissy, just discussing..

I would suggest that partly it's that LA City County are not nearly as dense as NYC and because NYC's extreme density & community spread, this affected neighboring counties such as Nassau & Suffolk on Long Island, and Westchester & Rockland, and Northern Jersey counties such as Bergen and Union.

This will take some time to tell with any amount of confidence. It may be that small differences in something like density might have larger impacts than when we realize from a more *superficial* examination of top level numbers.

*BTW, my parents live in a rural county about an hour north of NYC (near West Point), and the numbers for their county are far higher than mine, and I live a half hour from LA County/hour from LA City proper.

That's what I'm thinking as well. More people packed tighter equals easier spread, outlying areas get the over flow because there still is so much commuting from those areas.

Make me think NYC was just a huge confluence the worst factors.

Ah, so when he was talking about 'disinfectants', he actually meant 'medicine'. Is that the new talking point? It's amazing how contorted you will make yourself in an attempt to defend Trump.

Population density and temperature could be two reasons.

    Here's how.

LA County has 4,100 square miles. Manhattan has 23 square miles. Brooklyn has 70 square miles and the Bronx has 42 square miles. With Queens and Staten Island, NYC has about 300 square miles

10 million people in LA County daily, or about 2,500/square mile.

Manhattan alone has a weekday population of about 4,000,000 or 174,000 per square mile, and a base population density of 72,000/ square mile.

5 million people use mass transit in NYC daily. In LA under 400,000 do.

LA County has about 20% more population than NYC spread over a land mass that's 14 times bigger. At 2500/square mile it has about the same population density as El Paso Texas (2,676) and Colorado Springs CO (2341).

    They're entirely different animals.
