Sounds like hospitals can’t make money the way they normally do so they are “finding” new ways to make money. This isn’t political. It’s just flat out wrong.

hospitals should only get money for Covid 19 if they do a test and confirm it. Can’t have grey areas. I trust the doctors, not the hospital administrators who I’m sure are having budget issues like most companies during this pandemic.

Wow. Wasting no time. Our stay at home ends tomorrow & I just got a text from my pot shop saying they are going back to in store...they’d had a tight ship, call ahead curb side pickup that I quite liked

 

No hiking in SW Florida but the fishing is off the charts. Son and I landed 9 redfish to 34", 7 snook to 28" fishing around Sanibel/Captiva today. Started using 20 lb tackle instead of 30 to make it more sporting and got wrecked by two big snook in a span of 10 minutes. Think one may have been a personal best (north of 38") based on the size of his head when he came up and shook it at me before snapping my 20 lb braid with a dismissive head shake. Not sure if I would have landed him on 30 lb line or not but I would have liked to have had a chance. Snook and redfish are catch and release only since red tide decimated fishery down here. Supposed to remain that way until May 2021. Love my fresh redfish but digging the catch numbers No guides working much so pressure on fish is light. Had a massive manatee come up and scratch himself on the anchor line too.

 

I'm not sure that is realistic given that tests weren't always available and hospitals treating people as if positive given symptoms is what some have done. This makes much sense given the situation in some places.

this sounds like you are ok with Hospitals fudging numbers. I’m not ok with that. It’s not gray at all. Either someone died with Covid 19 or they didn’t. I’m not even going to bring up that Covid 19 might not even be the cause of death.

 

OK, so this is exactly what far right wing talking points want to do. They want to sow doubt in the minds of people. By stating a simple fact: medicare pays more for Covid Pneumonia than regular pneumonia, it allows people to make an unfounded assumption that hospitals are inflating numbers for monetary gain. While I can't say it's impossible there is currently not proof that this is happening.

It makes sense that Covid pneumonia should pay out more, people with Covid19 are on ventilators and at the hospital a hell of a lot longer than regular pneumonia patients. Hell I had pneumonia recently and I only needed a short in hospital visit.

Don't let the far right wing take one simple and accurate fact and twist it to the point that people start questioning how serious this virus is.

 

There can be multiple causes of death, of which hospitals were requested to list Covid-19 as one of them for people suspected but not tested. This is in large part because tests weren't in abundance and some hospitals were pretty flooded with patients.

Automatically assuming they are fudging the numbers misses this.

 

Exaclty. Take a blood sample if there wasn’t a test available(not sure I buy that). To blindly think everyone is altruistic is a pipe dream. Come on Libs, some hospital administrators have to be Republicans...
