People are hoarding toilet paper in the mistaken belief it is manufactured in China. Only 10% of the toilet paper sold in the USA was imported in recent years, and most of that was produced in Canada and Mexico. Toilet paper sold in the USA is mostly made in South Carolina, Oregon, and Washington. It is, ah, domestic product.

The Great Toilet Paper Panic of 2020 has made asses of a good many people. This is a rumor that needs to be quickly flushed before it makes dingleberries of us all.

Maybe we should call Cpt. Kirk to have the Klingons wipe out Uranus.

Markets look to open at 5% down and continue dropping from there.

Disruption in distribution channels much? I wonder who has taken short positions that are drooling right about now. Gentlemen, place your bets ERRR call and put options accordingly.

I will suggest that probably in 30 days or so that many of you will see the point I am stating. Now that Trump has chosen to ban most of Europe from entering the US along with China etc. Then we will see how afraid everyone is when they didn't need to be. Like it or not but shutting out countries will not stop a virus that is ALREADY in the US. I also suggest that if you didn't know about this virus that life would continue as usual except for that day that you said "mmmm I don't feel so great today" moment. Other than that you would continue on with no worries as it should be. But now, we aren't looking at the effects..no no no...we are afraid of the numbers of infected.
Economically we are all going into the crapper! Even here in the Maldives they have banned 2 of our biggest guest arrivals from entering (China and Italy) and if they add France then our surf season is gone! We have a 6 room guesthouse that depends on foreign guests and our estimate is if no guests that we will be without income for too long and will be forced to close our doors. Looking at the US it really looks bad as the effects begin steamrolling downward and it is going to hit very hard unless someone steps up and shows some logic. Yes having income does matter.
Anyway, I have said my piece and although unpopular with a few of you I am confident that if approached realistically that one would understand why I view this drama show as being overblown and unnecessary. Just my view...enjoy fearing a not so scary virus.

We're in our 60s and haven't cut back at all. Been around a lot of people. (Sonny's on Waldo Road was packed well after 1 pm yesterday. Then I realized its Gator Nationals weekend)
But our kids are recommending that we lay low for a while, stay home. I don't know. It's not like it'd be for a few days. Weeks? Months?

At the very least you should probably get a will if you don't already have one.

This pretty much sums everything up. We just don't know. Not enough people have been tested. I've heard from two different people with family members that work at Shands that state there are more cases than the public knows about.

Zinc seems to be effective in Korea in people that have caught this. I think they combine it with chloroquine also.

    Start pushing sales in Australia...?

If I didn't have a wife and 3 kids I would book a month at your place and just chill out.

Market getting crushed... so many good companies with zero exposure getting tossed out with the bath water.

If the old geezers like me (67) get hit hard and enough of us croak, SS and Medicare will be saved.

See, there’s a silver lining in every dark cloud.

My wife's family lives in Sicily. it's freaking nuts right now over there and a lot of panic. Her father had a heart attack a year ago, Grandpa is in mid 90's failing health and grandma is in mid 80s and failing health. You have to have a pass to go out to the dr's, pharmacy or groceries or face a 300 euro fine. Just to let you know that most places in Sicily only pay 450 euros a month....

the hospitals in Sicily are also a joke, I can send you pictures of where my son was born and the care received. when my wife was in labor the baby was crowning and she told the nurse as she was sitting on the gurney in the hallway and was told to shut up. the care in Sicily is terrible and if the virus gets a serious foothold in sicily the death toll will be awful
