The model changes of number of projected deaths were calculated after social distancing measures were put into place in Florida. Texas put their order in 4 days after Florida and their numbers are incredibly low in comparison. The Tennessee vs Kentucky numbers look pretty interesting as well seeing as everyone was blasting the Tennessee governor for his inaction. Cases and Deaths per 1M population with Tenn at 1,243 and 26 while Kentucky is 784 and 43. Tennessee has run twice as many tests per million population so the number of positive cases in Kentucky may be more similar than the numbers above.
There are way too many variables in play, at this point in time, to be making declarations of who, what, or where made the right decisions.

My question is why the lack of information through mainstream media on ways to boost immunity, get exercise to minimize stress, potential serious effects of taking NASID's, etc or I have I missed it since I watch minimal amounts of TV.

IF you are going to do this, then you need to dig up all of the unusual Viral pneumonia deaths that started in the US around New Years and study them to really find out how many Covid-19 deaths we had in this country. The Mayor of San Jose was quoted as saying they have become aware of infections and deaths in San Jose as early as January, which means that is even earlier than the recent news headlines, but far more consistent with what anyone who travels to China for work and had any common sense already knew.

There were local social distancing in place on South Florida before De Santiago announces it. And businesses were closing before the announcement. Why don’t you tell us what immunity boosts will help. What kills people is the immune system going into hyper warp. There have been plenty of discussions on NASID’s.

I think an obvious difference is that less than 12% of the population in Texas is over 65. In Florida, over 20% is over 65. The fact the Florida is America's Rest home, while simultaneously being the Spring Break AND infected New Yorkers destination of choice probably has an awful lot to do with the divergence mortality rates.

I am not sure I understand this. How can you boost your immunity to a "novel virus"? You can try to boost your immune system, but scientist are not even sure if that is a good thing or not as many people are dying from the over reation of their immune system.

California sees another record day of coronavirus deaths

California reached another grim milestone amid the coronavirus pandemic Wednesday, reporting the highest number of deaths in a single day — 118 new fatalities — bringing the statewide toll to more than 1,400.

Sixty-six of those deaths were in Los Angeles County, which has seen a surge in fatalities in recent weeks, bringing the countywide total to 732 since the outbreak began. Barbara Ferrer, the county's public health director, also confirmed nearly 1,300 new COVID-19 cases — pushing the cumulative total to 16,449.

Public health officials say while hospitals are not being overwhelmed, they continue to see a steady flow of patients. As of Wednesday, there were 1,791 COVID-19 patients hospitalized countywide — with 30% of them in intensive care and 19% on ventilators, according to Ferrer.

I can't speak for the entire state, but people in my county and city have been pretty good. I don't how many but there are several nursing homes that have seen a cluster of cases (one in my city had at least 80 residents and 10 staff test positive).

I can only imagine if Newsom waited even just a week more to shut it down, what things might look like. Although there is lot of grumbling from some quarters on the local fb group pages.

I agree on factors affecting Florida and am quite surprised our death number is not substantially higher because of it. I was actually talking about Texas compared to the rest of the country. One other thing I noticed while looking at the stats is that it seems that those states who had non-THC laws in 2019, for the most part, have lower death rates per capita from COVID. Exceptions are Indiana, Mississippi and Georgia which are in the middle of the pact.

California's huge (150,000) homeless population is very much at risk.

You are wasting your time. He gets his information and opinions from fringe sources. And repeats then here. And those on the fringe are trying to minimize the disease despite the experience we are seeing world wide. They live in A world of lies and falsity. And you can’t shake them with facts. It has been that way since Trump said the “numbers” would go from 15 to zero. Speaking of people like numbers. Remember how this thread began? The best clinical judgment by professionals and MEs are not good enough for him.m. He knows better than the professionals do without having seen a patient or their symptoms.

I really want to know, who and what type of bleeping jackwad curses out nurses and healthcare workers? Sets me off

Anyway, these are folks I admire. America and Americans at their best:

They lived in a factory for 28 days to make millions of pounds of raw PPE materials to help fight coronavirus
    By Meagan Flynn

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/04/23/factory-masks-coronavirus-ppe/?fbclid

At his factory just off the Delaware River, in the far southeastern corner of Pennsylvania, Joe Boyce clocked in on March 23 for the longest shift of his life.

In his office, an air mattress replaced his desk chair. He brought a toothbrush and shaving kit, moving into the Braskem petrochemical plant in Marcus Hook, Pa., as if it were a makeshift college dormitory. The casual office kitchen became a mess hall for him and his 42 co-workers turned roommates. The factory’s emergency operations center became their new lounge room.

For 28 days, they did not leave — sleeping and working all in one place.

In what they called a “live-in” at the factory, the undertaking was just one example of the endless ways that Americans in every industry have uniquely contributed to fighting coronavirus. The 43 men went home Sunday after each working 12-hour shifts all day and night for a month straight, producing tens of millions of pounds of the raw materials that will end up in face masks and surgical gowns worn on the front lines of the pandemic.

Yep. Have posted it before and will post it again, but after two days of Flu like symptoms, my resting heart rate was 140 trying to fight it off. Was all my immune system going into overdrive.

An IV for hydration and $4k ER bill got the job done, but those were the scariest 6 hours of my life. Anyone that thinks I’m exaggerating can pick up my tab at Baptist health, and I’ll release all of my PHI. It includes why I was admitted (6’0 175 males shouldn’t have that RHR).

Whoever posted the link to the Texas A&M Doctor provided a really good post. There are a lot of people that ended up between me and death (with severe, permanent organ failure / problems).

I’m lucky enough to joke about a $4k ER bill. Many people ended up asymptotic and many much worse. Cross your fingers you aren’t in the much worse category.

NY tests seem to indicate homeless had high rates but low impacts as their immunity system may be stronger because they often live in squalor

I have continued to travel thru out these troubled times (essential). And surprisingly the first time I have been able to work out in a hotel fitness room or eat in a restaurant (last night), was in California. Who would have thunk?
