That we're at 57 infections total and most of those are due to people being stuck together on a cruise ship, I'd say we're doing a pretty damn good job of keeping it contained. It would take more than 100,000 infections (at least) to equal the amount of death caused by our mildest flu season. He is absolutely correct to call out the BS.

The reaction to the coronavirus outbreak seems to break down on political lines that are the polar opposite of how they were for the Ebola scare a couple of years ago.

I was going to post it last night but it was just from memory.....However I believe I can find a link because Trump tweeted about it this morning which reinforces my memory...give me a few minutes and I will try to find something.

The only reason this has become political is because Trump came out and contradicted the CDC.

All I remember is Trump's commerce secretary saying coronavirus would be good for the US and we'd get more jobs because of it.

Apparently, when it comes to the coronavirus, the only problem Trump sees is the media and the Democrats. Other than that, it's all peachy.

As Trump paints rosy picture of coronavirus, his own health officials sound alarm

Well it's not just about the coronavirus is it? It's about handling any potential epidemic. But yours is a typical ignorant con attitude towards science and expertise. As for your prediction, you are probably wrong. Looked it up and and average of 27 die each year from lightning strikes in the US.

As president, he has a responsibility to project confidence here and the numbers (at least in the U.S.) are fairly miniscule. The last thing you want is a POTUS to induce widespread panic in situations like these. The current situation warrants calm. He is absolutely handling it the correct way.

Yep, but Bernie has bigger problems than Trump. 1 death from Coronavirus versus 150,000,000 deaths from gun violence since 2007. Which problem would you rather have to explain?
