I believe NY added a lot of deaths that were 'presumed' to be caused by CV today. We've known that the official confirmed death count was way low.

It must be a glitch. They didn’t jump like that today.

Apparently, that has to do with the fact that New York is trying to report more accurate historical data. Those weren't deaths today but announced deaths from the previous few weeks that appear likely to have been Covid deaths.

They also say: "New York City today has reported 3,778 additional deaths that have occurred since March 11 and have been classified as "probable," defined as follows: “decedent [...] had no known positive laboratory test for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) but the death certificate lists as a cause of death “COVID-19” or an equivalent" [source]. We will add these to the New York State total as soon as it is determined whether the historical distribution can be obtained."

So basically, they will add these deaths on to the dates on which they actually occurred whenever they get the data to do so, raising the death totals for each of the previous days.

If you look at the number of deaths in NY, there have been thousands more than normal over the last number of weeks even after accounting for the official COVID-19 deaths.

I think NY is just trying to accurately measure the number of deaths caused by COVID-19. But it doesn't surprise me that Trumpers are going to be suspicious of it.

Trump starts off his 4/14 press conference with WHO craziness. What a nut. Looking for a scapegoat. So transparent. Bootlickers start licking.

So he just announced he’s halting funding of the WHO for their mismanagement and coverup.

He’s complaining about the WHO not getting info out of China.

I refer you to this quote.

"China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!" Trump wrote in a tweet.

He’s trying to say that his naïveté is the WHO’s fault

That’s my shocked face. It’s sad that this is what American leadership has come to with this administration.

Completely absurd. Trying to advance the notion that he banned travel against everybody's wishes when he did no such thing and endangering the world in the process.

Too stupid to even hire someone WHO can write a speech.

If you eliminated the word “powerfully” this thing would take 15 min

He's a thin-skinned psychopath who places blame when and where no blame is even needed.

And because he's transactional, his go to lifelong play is to withhold funding- from his contractors, his lenders, his casino's bondholders, from states who disagree with him and now from the WHO during a pandemic.

The man is not normal. Time for this clown show to end.
