while giving out kudos to california, a shout out to washington, and texas especially for low numbers. texas with i believe the 2nd most population at only8262 confirmed cases, critical for dallas, houston, san antonio to keep them down.

Texas has one of the lowest testing rates in the country. Won't find cases if you don't look appears to be the strategy.

This. CNN, FOX and MSNBC suck in primetime. Just opinions and sniping at each other.

The downsides of CA are cost of living due to the immense wealth, ridiculously overcrowded metro areas since despite its geographic size, there isn't a lot of land that can be developed, which of course also drives up costs, as does serious climate/environmental issues. Makes it much tougher than it I think it'd otherwise be. The elitism that you write about is more or less confined to those enclaves in which the wealthy live. NTL, CA folk tend to be pretty nice. There's a more laid back vibe (compared to NYC where I'm from). Moved here 6 years ago. Much different than I thought, good and bad.

It is hard to fathom the depths of irony presented by the above. As my father used to observe about certain folks: "often wrong, but never in doubt."

BTW, are "liberals, progressives and communists" all denoted by a single mark with no shades of interpretation? For example, if one is liberal on social issues and fiscally conservative, does being progressive on social issues make one a progressive and therefore a communist? Asking for a friend.

Ditto. I'll wait until the first 10 million or so don't turn into zombies.

I think you mean fiscally, not physically, although that could be funny if presented in a certain way.

You are quick. Posted it. Read it. Fixed it, and you were already on it. Obviously fiscally, although at my age I am getting more physically conservative too!

It took that thread SIX days to reach this page number. It has taken this one

    Seriously.

This thread is 1.5 MILLION views from The Thread.
It took that thread only 6 days to reach this page number. While this thread has taken 40 days.

    Pages:
    This Thread: 296
    THE Chip Kelly Thread: 1156

    Posts:
    This Thread: 5909
    THE Chip Kelly Thread: 23,118

    Views:

One site dropped it 10K in 4 days. (Might be the same one I posted yesterday as the numbers are very similar)
I think it is because they are realizing that NYC area is way worse than most places and that when subtracting their numbers you realize the rest of the US is growing at a much slower rate than some projections.

Those deaths require a positive test to classify them as coronavirus deaths, right?

They are actually saying the peak is going to hit earlier than they previously estimated, which gives less time for the exponential growth to take hold.

BTW, it is important to note that these figures work off of an assumption of social distancing through August.

Stupid comparison. One thread is about life, death, and everything that’s important. The other is about a virus.

The site I was referring has the same projection with just Social distancing through just May:
They have been pretty accurate with their modeling so far. The bumped it up a bit last week and then dropped it back yesterday.
