It takes a certain kind of soulless narcissist to brag about his “ratings” while people in his country and under his charge are dying during a pandemic.

He is truly an asshole born with neither an empathy gene nor a modicum if modesty. Shame on him.

LMAO.....the last thing I want to do is get in a pissing match, however you did came on a little aggressive with your "you wouldn't acknowledge it" poke. Plus, no where in my post did I say "Everyone" let alone most everyone is carrying on with the hatred of all things Trump (Your Gross generalization).
Here is your quote above. Why not clarify your elitist comment but now you try to say I put words in your mouth? "You wouldn't acknowledge it" is pretty freakin clear to me.

My original post was meant to hopefully be a springboard to meaningful discussion on why there is hope in the near horizon with improved testing, Antibody testing, vaccines, etc Sorry that fever got some of you riled up ;)

New York state coronavirus deaths increase by 237 in past day: governor

(Reuters) - The number of deaths from the coronavirus in New York state increased by 237 in the past day, reaching a total of 965 since the outbreak began, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday.

The state also reported 7,195 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the past day for a total of 59,513, Cuomo told a news conference. Another 1,175 people were hospitalized in the past day, increasing the total to more than 8,500 hospitalizations in the state, including more than 2,000 in intensive care, Cuomo said. New York has been the most affected U.S. state.

Seriology still needs to be made a national priority and expedited. It is too important to decisions, such a as when to open the country. We can’t guess and be wrong. Which is a federal government responsibility. Once the test is ready, we need to be able to take blood from as many people as possible as soon as possible. Starting with anyone with a fever since December. What I am having trouble with is looking at South Korea and the other countries mentioned above, I know that there was a proper game plan to address this virus. One we didn’t follow that plan. And we didn’t lead. Countries that used to rely on is are suffering. We are suffering. People may support limited government or big government. But, I am speechless when I hear the president speak of relying on the private sector in a pandemic. Are we going to rely on the private sector to fight wars? I view the primary role of the federal government is to address national emergencies and war; then varying national issues and problems irrelevant to this thread. This is a National emergency

It will not be treating covid19 cases. Only there to relieve hospitals of non covid cases to take that burden off of hospitals. As a former oil tanker that ship isn't exactly built for speed

at this point, anything is better than nothing. I understand that this ship isn't going there to treat covid-19 patients.

and @96Gatorcise, it will matter. it's 1,000 beds that NY wouldn't have had. it's not going to put them in a great spot, but again, something is better than nothing.

And, despite the subtitled translation, this is really worthy of your time.....an interview with South Korea's leading coronavirus expert. Among other things, he is suggesting people in the US are making a serious error in not wearing masks in public:

The two tests that will help to predict spread of Covid-19 Interesting article

Also Untied Biomedical said they will ramping up production to a million kits a day of their antibody test by the end of April. They are the company that has already tested all of the first responders, health care workers, teachers, essential workers and their families in Telluride. So far, no one has tested positive. Maybe, just maybe they will be able to speed the process up.

I don't know that all Americans need to be wearing masks, but people in big cities probably should. Especially if they are going to use elevators or ride crowded public transportation systems or walk on crowded streets.

If Trump engages in behavior some of us object to or continues to LIE, we will call that out. If some have a hard time with that: read the 1st amendment and deal with it.

Trump brings it on himself, lies, tweets, etc. I’m not arguing that point because I can’t.

What I said initially is Trump has been called many more bad or negative names than Obama. That’s what I’ve personally witnessed.

I also said posters have attacked each other worse after Trump was elected. That GC has Put more posters in time out and instituted more stringent posting rules. I think that has run more people off. Not me, btw.

Trump catches a lot of heat on this board, but for the most part posters keep his wife out of it. They didn't just go after Barack, they went after his wife. One of our former Pubs who ran away used to refer to her as "Moochelle" and plenty of them also alluded to her being a man. They must think we really forgot the 8 years worth of vile nicknames they came up with.
