Nobody died of a fictitious virus. 1.2 million died largely from the effects of panic and despair.

Thanks to all who just wanted to save lives.

Not an answer to what I asked. But let's play for a moment and say that you're right, our response was terrible.

What evidence is there that the GBD focused protection and herd immunity *strategy* (which wasn't really a strategy but a statement), would have worked? Or been any better. Or not been far worse?

GBD focused protection vs wholesale panic.

Guess which strategy won out ?

The shot was suppose to get us to herd immunity. That is the point. GBD knew that it needed to be focused and gradual. But the idiots wanted to coerce people to take a new drug only to get there. The GBD was let’s protect the most vulnerable and let medicine/science do its thing. Sadly we abandoned that and to this day still recommend people take a drug they don’t need. Pfizer and Moderna salute those of you still in this mindset. Thankfully the vast majority have moved on. Unfortunately we now get to deal with the consequences and need to make sure we never do what we did again!

Looking for evidence that the GBD could have worked or did in some fashion. Anyway...

Herd immunity is an overarching hope in infectious disease prevention and a secondary goal at best, not any primary tool to fight a pandemic. The hope is that it occurs at some point after an outbreak because this would provide an additional layer of protection by cutting off pathways for the disease to spread, thus protecting those who can't get vaccinated & because we know that the failure rate of vaccination is a non-zero number.

The point of vaccinations and why they're a primary tool isn't then about achieving herd immunity in any immediate sense, it is because they are the best way to directly protect individuals and thus the public from infectious disease. Also, vaccines have the benefit of allowing people to have protection without having to get infected to have immunity. More infections=Higher rates of sickness and death. It might be helpful to consider the complicated nature of infectious disease in the first place and how there is no surefire way to completely stop its spread or effects.

You claim that the "GBD knew that it needed to be focused and gradual" That was was their argument and what they believed should occur. However, this is not evidence that the GBD solution would have been more successful or that it wouldn't have been far worse. Like herd immunity, focused protection has never been the central tenet of any national response to pandemics. In the absence of vaccinations or highly effective treatments, letting a highly infectious novel virus spread across a population naturally is to blithely concede a very likely increase in destruction & death because there's no effective way to isolate and protect only the vulnerable at a national scale and w/o any promise that herd immunity would even be achieved when a virus is spreading at pandemic rates.

You might not wonder why, but I'll say it anyway. It's because the scale and complexity is enormous and prior to the advent of covid vaccinations & effective treatments, faiap we had no tools or defensive weapons to protect the public. Maybe if the GBD folk provided more than a declaration, such as an actual roadmap on how they would implement their strategy on a national scale, cobbling together contextual evidence showing how the most vulnerable could be protected and how allowing the rest to live as they wish without bringing even more harm, they would have been more convincing.

No such thing as viruses. Ergo, no such thing as herd immunity.

But given the almost universal belief in viruses, GBD was altogether saner than what was chosen.

Don't worry everyone, the new NIAID Director(taking over for Fauci) is a super awesome scientist. Here she is is 9 months after Covid had hit the US saying Covid had an IFR of 10%. I mean, she was only off by 99.6%. And then the MSM wonders why people don't trust "science" anymore.

So, my secondary music project, Blacklight Armadillo, is me & an old grad school bud from TX. He came for 3 intense days, left a few hrs ago & we got some killer shit IMO. None better than this. He wrote it & sings it, but, I'm proud to be a part of it. Best damn covid song I know of. Oh, "satisfies her" was a clever way to get "Pfizer" in the tune.

Report: Nearly 120,000 young adults, children died from COVID shots (wnd.com)

A new report reveals that a secret Centers for Disease Control document confirms that nearly 120,000 children and young adults died "due to the COVID-19 vaccine's dangerous side effects."

That includes more than 78,000 excess deaths in that age group during 2021 after the shots were available, and governments started demanding people accept them, and the 39,000 plus in 2022.

It is Expose-News that said, "The CDC report should spark widespread outrage and be on the front page of every single major newspaper. But instead, it has been and will continue to be met with a deafening silence. Despite the staggering death toll the report will be buried and swept under the carpet."

The report explained, "The official figures reveal that there was a slight increase in excess deaths among children and young adults when the alleged COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S. in early 2020. However, with the introduction of a COVID-19 injection, one would have expected deaths to have fallen significantly among the age group in 2021. But instead, the opposite happened."

The report said the number of excess deaths surged after the rollout of the COVID-19 shots.

"If we are to believe the official narrative that COVID-19 injections are safe and effective, then how can one explain the further increase in death among children and young adults in both 2021 and 2022?"
