    Pretty interesting and good news.

I wonder if at some point, maybe even now, the excess deaths actually go a little negative, in that a million + extra people died the last 3 years, most of them older and/or with health conditions. It stands to reason that their early deaths will lead lower deaths for some time in the future.

Unlike you, I do my research and cite my sources. Like this link that states it's the 1 in 10 doctors with reservations about the vaccine causing issues. By my math, that's 9 in 10, or 90%, without reservations.

Now, where's your links about the safety signals? How about a link that states there's a vaccine out there with zero side effects!

I don’t need links to tell me what I want to hear. The disease is not dangerous to most. The propagandists scared the mess out of you and doctors. The threats and silencing of those who questioned why were real/disgusting/dangerous. It is why you are so tunnel visioned and do not look at the big picture and have accepted a one size fits all approach. Which is the antithesis of how to practice medicine.

But you do you. You are in the minority and have links to make you feel better about how bad you were played. One day you will get there like the vast majority.

just don’t share your opinion, but it was outrageous that my wife, myself and my 4yo all had covid were not allowed to visit him. We were all fine, but when my brother in law was laying face down on oxygen and we were not allowed to visit him, that’s unconscionable.

i do believe it was severe for certain people. My fat and sedentary brother in law is an example, but the draconian policies were too much. Advise citizens and update information. Most people were ok with the initial 14 days but the extended lockdowns and policies did far more harm than good. Jmho

This is another one of the policies that really did cause generational harm. It was evil to not allow family members to see their loved ones. Truly evil.

Chatted with a friend who works in hospice about a year ago. It angers me to this day to remember the conversation we had about the people he was caring for during their final days when the draconian Covid policies were in place. Pure Evil!

That would be the "vast majority of people living in your head." The vast majority of educated people do not share your views. Read this thread for a little refresher on how many don't buy into the crap you are pushing.

We already knew that. You are clearly willing to claim what you believe as truth without any data to back it up, often in spite of data showing your beliefs to be false.

What we were hoping for was some kind of data helping us see things as you are seeing them. Currently, what you are saying doesn't fit reality, so we are left wondering how you got there and hoping you can show us the way to get to where you are. But you consistently choose not to. At some point the logical conclusion is that you can't.

In hindsight I largely agree. But that’s the rub with a novel virus. We didn’t know then what we know now.

My younger brother, whom died in 2020 while at North Fl Hospital in Gainesville, had diabetes but had it under control and did not need to have insulin until he contracted covid. It caused his blood sugar to spike and they started insulin at the hospital. My wife and I both had covid before the vaccine was available. Both of us received the vaccine as soon as it became available. No one was allowed on the "covid" ward to see the patients. Nurses said he was doing very good and we expected him to be coming home the next day. That morning I got a call that he had passed.
Our youngest son is one of the top data engineers where he works. He had been telling us that the data he was looking at every day did not support most of what we were being told about covid at the time. He had also told us that people who were overweight and people with diabetes were the highest risk to have major complications from covid. Of course, this is well documented now.

    LOL!

This thread definitely provides a refresher on how powerful propaganda is and how it works.

Some still following the tunnel vision. Granted a very small minority now.

I have provided data. You can decide to not follow basic medicine and do what you wish with it. Like find links and studies that make you feel better about being played and follow the tunnel vision inflicted by the idiots in public health. Or you can realize we allowed a small minority to cause generational damage.

It’s not just old people dying off.

It was the effects of panic and despair that killed a million Americans. 2020ff was a textbook case on how to kill multitudes without needing a pathogen.

Yes, on that score you’re spot-on. But I wish you’d take a closer look at the existential question. If you’ve been at all vocal in your opposition to lockdowns and mask and vaccine mandates … they already consider you a loon.

yes. Again just my opinion, there were a lot of learning opportunities as well as head scratchers. The volume and velocity of the voices that shouted down any dissenting view was concerning. I have an ability to think and reason on my own and decide as a family what is best for us. My elected representatives job is to inform and advise, not draft compulsory requirements under the threat of prison. So many things looking back were just inaccurate representations, knowing or unknowingly. Locking down of kids was unconscionable. In Georgia i was going to the gym while my in laws in Illinois weren’t even allowed to shop at the hardware store. Rather than encourage and hope for good results Ga, the national media and politicians piled on and even cheered and sneered for poor results. Talk about ghoulish. Arresting surfers in California, while politicians are taking their boats out and meeting for parties etc. how hard would It have been to test if vaccine recipients could contract and spread the virus? But they led with “if you get the vaccine you won’t get nor spread”. Completely untrue. Did the vaccines help target groups? Over 60 or comorbidity…yes. Now NYT admits deaths were over counted by 1/3. That’s a huge number and if you questioned the data you were a Q nut conspiracy nut, marginalize and ridiculed with the full Force of the president. what we were told and that trust, whatever there was,
    Has been eroded at best.

    There was no novel virus.

There certainly was a novel reaction.

Q wants to think his unsupported opinion is better than published journal articles written by people with advanced degrees and years of practical experience. And Q doesn't need links! hE's aN ExpeRt in hIs OWn mInd!!!

Would people consider diabetes a serious disease? Over 50,000 a year, on average, die from diabetes. Type I is hereditary, but Type II is for the most part avoidable with diet and exercise. If your A1C numbers get over 6.0, doctors will advise you you are pre-diabetic, and tell you to change your habits to lower your number. Over 7.0, and you are diabetic, and the doctor will prescribe you drugs that will help you treat your condition. Metformin is a tried and true drug, and new ones like Ozempic have recently come on to the market and combined, are quite effective at treating Type II diabetes. Still, 50,000 people a year, on average, die from diabetes.

Imagine what that number might be if we didn't have the drugs to manage diabetes? How much more would doctors harp on prevention if there were zero treatment options? And just what would doctors do if diabetes became a communicable disease?

Even if you cut the COVID death numbers in half, there were still more COVID deaths in 2020 and 2021 than deaths from diabetes. And in 2020, COVID was a disease with no treatment and communicable. It should surprise nobody that their doctors' collective reaction was to do everything to avoid people from getting infected. Doctors' mission is to extend the length of life. COVID was killing more people than anything other than cancer and heart disease, and there was little they could do to prevent it from happening once someone got infected.

Now agreed, the different reactions from the state were problematic. But that could have been handled if we had strong, central leadership that followed the Pandemic Handbook left to they by prior administrations. And that handbook stated the Pandemic Response should be lead by a Medical Professional, who set Federal guidelines and requesting all states to follow. But Trump didn't do that. No reason to rehash all the mistakes Trump made, because there were many. But the buck stops at the POTUS' desk.
