So you do know why researchers and statisticians use rates when comparing groups of different sizes. Excellent.

Using the counts of deaths to compare unvaccinated and vaccinated outcomes in that data set is the same, statistically, as claiming DeSantis is a bad governor because Florida had the third most covid deaths in the US.

I'm not claiming that Florida had the third most covid deaths, I was using that as an example of the statistical reasoning QGator was using. QGator has been using counts of deaths to compare groups of different sizes. The proper way to compare groups of different sizes is rates. If counts are used, the larger group will look like it has more of whatever we are counting, and will give a misleading picture of what is happening.

Florida was pretty average when it came to covid deaths.

So you do understand that Medicine and Public Health are suppose to look at all populations and their risk profile when authorizing drugs? I am not sure you do.

I have been using counts of deaths to show what groups are at risk. Don’t change my point.

And do you know these public health facts?
    • At all age cohorts age 12 and up, the vaccinated have lower rates of severe COVID which translates into lower hospitalization and death rates
    • There is no correlation between excess deaths and vaccination rates
So tell me, why wouldn't doctors want to prescribe something that is very low risk and lowers the risk of hospitalization and death?

Which group, specifically, did not have a lower probability of death after taking the vaccine than the same group had before taking the vaccine?

Would a soldier kill if so commanded ? Most but not all soldiers ? Maybe a few would not at cost to their careers ?

You do understand that those under 65 are at little to no risk of Covid. And basically everyone has had Covid?

That is not the point. What groups were at risk to command the bed of a new drug.

Which age group had a 0% chance of death? If the answer is none, then you can analyze each group and see if the new drug lowers that risk.

What does this matter? Every study shows that even with prior infection, you lower your risks of severe COVID if you are vaccinated. Hybrid > NI > Vaccine only > Nothing.

So, you have never had COVID, being vaccinated lowers your risk. If you have had COVID, being vaccinated lowers your risk. And your risks from the vaccine? Almost zero. Again, no correlation between vaccine and excess deaths. So why wouldn't anyone want a low risk vaccine that lowers their risk of getting a severe case of COVID?

The vaccine lowers the risks for all cohorts age 12 and older. That's a fact.

Yes. That would be a part of why I included all the age groups in my analysis.

Every age group showed significant benefit in being fully boostered.

You don’t push a new drug based on a 0% death rate for goodness sakes. Good grief some of you…

    At what risk and benefit?

You know this but have been so wrong…you continue to dig deeper. I might be wrong. We may level off at 5-10% that will never get there and keep on digging in perpetuity…

O% death rate? Tell that to the parents of the 1,460 of kids under 17 that died. Or the families of the 6,808 people ages 18-29. Know what might have prevented some of these? The vaccine. Because the data from everywhere shows COVID morality rates decreases with the vaccine. That's the benefit.

And the risk? Nominal. Zero correlation between vaccination rates and excess deaths in any country. None.
