    statement from GM and Ventec:
We have been working on deal nonstop for a week and are committed and have never wavered from making Ventec's high quality ventilators to meet demand in this time of need

Right on the cusp of the problem, and with the foresight to see what can happen in a pandemic, Trump invokes the DPA to prepare the nation for the danger of COVID19 with as minimal burden to life and property as possible.

    Just kidding.

    Trump signed relief bill

Does anyone else find it crazy that he packed up 10 people within six feet of him while he signed the bill?

    Where is the social distancing?

Governor Cooper just shut us down for 30 days here in NC. The outbreaks are very confined here. I think he should have quarantined Raleigh and Charlotte metro, but I get it.

I am in an "essential business" by some states standards. We shall see what NC says.
Our organization has promised pay through April.

My staff is pretty nervous about beyond that.

Trump is still rambling about GM and he is still wrong about the deal.

GM is making vents for Ventec, the govt is making deal with Ventec not GM.

GM has to switch over a dirty plant into a clean room work space and train staff, wont happen quickly.

shhhh. I say let Trump keep thinking he is running things. People realize that real shit has to get done & he's nothing but a flaccid distraction. SAD.

What would stop those in Raleigh and Charlotte from leaving and going into non quarantined parts of the state and bring the virus with them? Doing the whole state keeps people close to home.

It that problem in Fl. New Yorkers coming here because we are still open. S Floridians heading north to get out of their quarantine.

In a way, if you prescribe to Winston Churchill's opinion on America, that we [paraphrasing] "always do the right thing once they've exhausted all other options," then Donald Trump is just being the best American that he can be. It's not his fault that he's just so talented at always finding other options to exhaust.

The Highway patrol? The National Guard? Are we serious or not?
Lots of rural areas and smaller cities that are doing well with this.
Let some parts of the economy stay open.

Lock down state lines. I have been saying a wall around New York makes sense.

Is there enough patrol and guard to block every road? Not looking for a fight just asking questions. Big cities have hundreds of ways out.
And without testing how does anyone know what areas are doing well, they could just be an area that hasn't gone off yet.
