Yep. Sweden got it right. And it is just laughable to hear the old 70% but because the disease we needed 90% for herd immunity. That nonsense came from the same people who made up 6 feet of social distancing (granted I personally don’t mind the results of that one but it makes you shake your head when you see a sign for it) and totally made up the mask virtue.

Propaganda is a powerful tool. Unfortunately it is going to be really hard for some to accept how wrong they were.

 

You do understand that a driving factor for being high risk to this disease is obesity…right?

 

And even then it would fail. There is at least one (likely more) natural reservoirs of this virus out there waiting to jump species again. How many unnamed respiratory disease outbreaks have we had through out history in era's before DNA sequencing that we just called "flu" or "pneumonia"?

This was always here and it was always going to cross species, like it probably has before. Just not in an era of wide scale, convenient global travel and thus had not previously become a global pandemic.

 

You’re forgetting that the variants have not come from the US. They came for other parts of the world.
In reality there was no way to stop variants unless the entire world reached the rates you cite.
