    Na…

No shot. Finally got Covid this May. It was nothing. Based on data. I fell right in line with the disease.

Jab away if you are scared and think it will help…

I have my serious concerns. But if one wants to take it. Go for it.

At this point it really is unnecessary. That is just basic science and medicine. It would be one thing if they were trying to guess the next variant like the flu shot and sell you on that idea. They are not even doing that. We know based on seroprevalence it is not necessary at this point. But go for it if you want…

Do what you need to do. Keep jabbing if necessary. It’s not me living in fear of Covid…

    LOL!

Yeah. I am living in fear. Okay. Jab away if you need to. Would not recommend it at this point. Especially considering you likely had Covid and Covid shots. And it is unnecessary now. But that is your call if you are still scared of Covid and think a shot will help you…

So, as I said: if his front line doctor tells him to do something different from what you would suggest with your admittedly limited knowledge (as a non-expert who has no knowledge of his medical history), then you want him to get a second opinion?

Any doctor who isn't a quack is going to tell a 58 year old man to get the covid booster.

It is hard to imagine the need to advise one to take one of these shots at this point based on medicine and science. If a doctor recommended me to get one of these shots I would absolutely seek another opinion.

Second opinions are quite common in medicine. But you do what you need to do. If you want to listen to a one size fits all approach knowing the data does not support it. Go for it.

What percentage of doctors (limit it to primary care if you wish) do you think recommend vaccines for most or all of their patients? Let's cut out the vague propaganda statements and talk actual numbers.

Depends. Mine did not. But if you go to a corporate outfit (sadly what is becoming the majority of primary care options…you will certainly get more recommendations for it in order to bill another code more than it is for the actual treatment of the patient). It was good hearing Offit say that he would not recommend these shots anymore in most circumstances but will give it. Granted he is pedes and we should have never been pushing these shots at all on most kids if any.

That didn't answer the question, and you returned to the safety of your talking points to avoid the possible cognitive dissonance of actual numbers. No, the percentage of doctors overall recommending something does not depend (it is just a number), although you are welcome to break it down by any variable you wish when answering the question, if you could.

You keep telling people to 'do what they need to do'. And they say what they need to do is get the covid booster. And then you disagree with them that they need to get the covid booster. And then the sequence repeats itself, ad nauseam. Why not just let people 'do what they need to do' without being a jerk about it? Just accept that many people feel differently than you do.

A doctor telling a 58 year old man not to get the booster borders on malpractice. And yes, I will do me. I'll make rational choices for myself instead of listening to a guy on a message board.

The data speaks for itself. Most doctors and people at this point are not taking the shots. They are there for you if you want one.

A doctor telling a person who has had three shots and just got Covid need not tell a person to take the booster. But some will. They appreciate your business.

Back to the talking points. Not a single actual data point. Luckily, most of us around here are smart enough to see through your talking points and recognize it for the propaganda that it is and can actually look at numbers.

Survey Outlines FPs’ Challenges on COVID-19 Vaccines

82% of doctors agreed with the statement "I agree with the recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines made by the CDC." There is the data you failed to provide.

The data does speak for itself. Which is why I chose to actually provide it and you chose to avoid it.

You just don't understand this stuff and you don't want to understand it. You are dug in so deep that no amount of data will convince you to believe what you don't want to believe. You do you, but stop trying to affect what others do. You do people a disservice by spreading your ignorance.

My last covid shot was back around Oct 2021. The immunity wears off whether it's natural immunity or vaccine-provided immunity. I know people who have had covid 2 or 3 times. I should have gotten the Bivalent booster a couple of months ago but I was lazy and put it off. Won't happen again.

The data speaks for itself. The one thing in that article that will be missed by most. Is that doctors are now seeing patients hesitant to take any vaccine.

That is what happens when you have a policy that does not follow science or medicine.

    LOL!

Natural immunity is superior protection. We know this from the Delta wave. Omicron did not care so at that point you could take as many shots as you wish and it did not matter. You could have had Covid and it did not matter.

The good news for you is that you presumably have the best protection of anyone over the next year and are a step ahead of those with omicron or one of its early sub-variants.

Take your shot. There is no need. But take it. Glad you’re feeling better from the bout you had with Covid as well.
