Ok, it looks like it's finally my turn. Just tested positive on two at-home tests. I've had inflamed sinuses today day, and increased congestion into the evening. I wasn't even thinking to take a covid test, only did it at my wife's prodding.

Last week was a mostly "back to normal" week for us, with pre-pandemic levels of activities. I was in the office for a few hours on Wednesday, then my wife and I attended a business happy hour that evening. We saw a movie Thurs night. Had lunch with a group from work on Friday, then HH drinks with my wife and another friend in the evening. Met another couple for dinner Saturday evening. The movie was the only place I wore a mask.

In general, I really don't feel too bad. Sinus congestion, some post-nasal drip (not exactly unusual - allergies), minimal cough, just a bit tired this evening. Not running a fever. I guess I'll see how I'm feeling in the morning.

Feel better. Positive antigen means you have it. Can’t avoid it now

England again? If the whole country is vaxed than yeah, thats what the data will look like.

Again, its like saying in a country where everyone wears seat belts that all deaths happen to people in seat belts. It doesnt mean we stop wearing seatbelts.

The question isnt ...how many died with the vaccine in a fully vaccinated population? The question is ...how many did not?

I have long supported personal rights in regard to the vaccine, but using England is just not accurate. People die in seatbelts, planes crash etc. We dont say those things dont work.

Yeah, those vaccines work. The vaccine RCT Tests in kids showed Zero efficacy comparing the vaccine to the placebo group. Zero hospitalizations in either group. Plus you aren't taking into account Natural Immunity. You are better than this, or at least I thought you were.

You do realize that's extremely unlikely. If a significant percentage of Black students or students in general for that matter remain unvaccinated DC will almost certainly waive the requirement at least temporarily and offer the vaccine in schools. I know I'm ancient but I received both the smallpox and polio vaccines in school back in the '50s and '60s. Vaccinating children in school is not a novel concept.

covid deaths in Florida spiking again, 450 people per week dying needlessly

Florida COVID deaths spike amid surge: hospitalizations, vaccine rates (palmbeachpost.com)

Florida logged more COVID-19 deaths in the past two weeks than it has in months.

The state's death toll climbed by an average of 452 each week from July 15 through Friday, Florida Department of Health figures show. That's the most since late March, when the giant wave of infections caused by the coronavirus' omicron variant was ebbing.

Since then, omicron subvariants have fueled the latest surge of infections statewide. The original omicron strain caused Florida's death toll to spike by more than 1,000 weekly during its height. Same with the delta variant last summer.

And keep in mind that we are reporting deaths in a way that underreports them for the last two or three weeks.

I assume your insinuation of “needlessly” refers to the fact we did not have a plan to react to how viruses mutate and decided to just go with an archaic vaccine over and over again?

You should be angry we did not use a targeted approach and have low risk control groups to create drugs that might actually work now…

How much you want to bet the vast majority of deaths are in the fully vaccinated over 65 category. With comorbidities (granted we will all likely have comorbidities at that time but…I would wager most are overweight along with being elderly).

***of course that is not going to be every case (so stupid I need to make this comment but to keep the deflection crowd from peddling unnecessary fear)***

Tracking the numbers and posting how they changed over time. At least twice in this thread.

Here, we'll do it again. According to worldometer, July 26th is the most recent date Florida has reported any covid deaths. 9 deaths on July 26th. I'll check back in at the end of the week to see if that number has changed.

Those vaccines work. This one doesn’t for kids . It’s really that simple. Get your head out of the sand. Show me during the trials how the vaccine group did better than the placebo. I’ll wait.

Day 2 evening update - I'm tired. Just took a long hot shower. More congested than yesterday, now with a runny nose, clearing my throat a lot. Gonna try to get a good night's sleep and hope tomorrow is looking better.
