Good to hear you are negative and over it for the most part. We are looking forward to a negative test.

This New ‘Ninja’ COVID Variant Is the Most Dangerous One Yet (yahoo.com)

The latest subvariant of the novel coronavirus to become dominant in Europe, the United States, and other places is also, in many ways, the worst so far.

The BA.5 subvariant of the basic Omicron variant appears to be more contagious than any previous form of the virus. It’s apparently better at dodging our antibodies, too—meaning it might be more likely to cause breakthrough and repeat infections.

High levels of at least partial immunity from vaccines and past infection continue to prevent the worst outcomes—mass hospitalization and death. But globally, raw case numbers are surging, with serious implications for potentially millions of people who face a growing risk of long-term illness.

You guys' better booster up and buy some mask

I am glad I got the booster.
The booster does prevent serious disease and hospitalization. Because I really felt crappy for a few days after I got COVID. 5 and a half weeks after the booster. Imagine if I didn’t have some antibodies to act on it already in me when I got sick!

That's why my natural immunity has protected me and my family so well. Have you had covid before?

Your “natural immunity” does not protect you from B5. Not at all. Prior Omicron infection doesn’t even protect against B4 and B5. I posted a study that shows people getting reinfected 4 weeks after prior Omicron infection. But you can google it. I have never been previously diagnosed With COVID but think I had it early in 2020 when there was no testing.

My wife had covid twice now, first time very mild reaction. The 2nd time she got it about 6 months ago and just mainly had a lingering cough. None of my family of 5 have been vaccinated. I had it November 2020, very mild and never caught it again. Some would say I'm lucky, I know my natural immunity is far better than any booster.
Did you have covid already? You never answered

Prior infection should protect against serious infection.

In early 2020, I was sick twice. It was every early when There were no tests available. So, I don’t know if one or both of those illnesses was COVID. I suspect one was. But, I have no way of knowing. This was the first time I have tested positive.

This might hold validity except this means you were posting while eating and drinking at a restaurant. I don’t get out much but when I do I’m not doing that.

    With all the fun…

I am confident I never had Covid until recently (did not test for it but can say with 99% plus confidence I had it). Since we have moved on I will officially state the obvious that I never vaccinated.

For an unvaccinated healthy 42 year old. My dealings were…waking up in Palm Coast with a headache and 99.2 fever. Took ibuprofen and Tylenol. Rested that day. Next day was tired but did a solid hour and half worth of yard work I needed to get done. Next day did a 5 mile run still more tired than normal. Next day 3 mile run and hour and a half of yard work (back in Ocala) still more tired than normal. Next day 5 mile run if I remember right still more tired than normal. Next day tennis and more tired than normal. From there on slowly went to not as tired as normal. But did have a lingering cough (though no real congestion). Benadryl for sleep with some ibuprofen and Tylenol did the trick.

Just think…if I forced my body that was fully capable to fight Covid on its own to deal with a vaccine it did not need. I might have run the morning I woke go with a headache. :)o_O:confused::D:ninja3:

Poster posts redundant question at 3:34 just 8 minutes after his question was answered. Then claims that in the intervening 8 minutes " Sorry I was at a restaurant drinking some adult beverages unlike you I like to go out and have fun. Take your mask off and try to relax" Seems like poster should take his own advice and relax, at least with the obnoxious attitude,

It was a really lame comeback on his part, putting aside he was an offender of what he just criticized.
