I can't think of any scientific reason why this would be the case. Congrats, you've found a statistical anomaly, and it "proves" your point.

And no, I'm not going to go digging back in this thread for something someone might have posted weeks ago. (shudders)

Just speaking the truth. You guys can post all the studies, CDC guidelines etc that you want, it's all academic. The real world has moved on. The studies could absolutely be on point. No one cares. The majority is burned out on mandates, vaccines and masks. People are traveling, working, packing stadiums and arenas. People are socializing in bars and restaurants.
Covid could and probably will flair up again, no one cares. It has been normalized and accepted that it will be around and some people may/will die. There is no going back to mandates and masks.

Seriously, what the hell am I reading here!? The same people who accused Fauci of “seeking his 15 minutes”, being an attention whore, partnering with big pharma, and many other ignorant tropes are now criticizing him for being quiet when ICU’s are empty and cases are practically non-existent? That’s his freaking job! Inform us when there’s threat, go back the relatively unknown when there minimal threat. Can’t you guys just say, hey, maybe we were wrong? No, now it’s he’s in hiding or whatever crap they’re saying.

Here's a truth: the dismissive attitude reflected in your several comments and some other fellow travelers point to why so many died in this country. People didn't take the pandemic seriously. They treated science like it was inferior to feelings and social media memes. And as we continue opening back up as covid becomes endemic, you can bet those who continue to die will never have grasped why measures were so strong because they have never understood the dangers of covid or of infectious disease in general. It's a sad commentary on this country.

6 million people died worldwide including 1 million Americans. One group dismissed this as "just a flu". Fauci tried to navigate this pandemic and advise us on health. Maybe you should just thank "old Joe" for getting us to an open economy after limiting the number of cases as our emergency rooms were not over flowing.

I actually hate saying the above b/c it plays into the idiotic Dems vs. Rep idiocy that views one side as infallible and the other as horrible. Let's just go with the folks that committed their lives in a non-partisan fashion to studying diseases and protecting our country.

Oh, that's right. Fauci. People who politicize and shout down science/medicine opinions from educated experts should be ignore as the uneducated village clowns that they are.

Fauci was one of the worst at politicizing this disease. He is evil imo.

Absolutely we should have listened to the people who supported a focused protection policy that addressed the entire issue. Instead we let a few push forth a one size fits all approach that turned into a disaster. And the fauc was and is part of the few who did that.

The damage done to public health by people like fauci will be with us for generations. He should be fired and sent to be forgotten. Though it will take a while to forget the damage he was part of creating.

Once you discount a million lives, you lose any moral stand. “They all would have died at some point of something.” That is the best you can do? And, you, like everyone else can’t answer the question: how many wound have died without mitigation? That 2.5 million prediction on early 2020 turned about the be conservative given the number who died with mitigation. And, answer this too: how much productivity would have been lost as ordinary sickness— 102 degree fevers like you had— kept people out of work as the virus spread through a wide open society that didn’t know how to treat it. And, what would have happened to the hospital system?
