    Boo hoo.
So the loss of jobs, income and savings isn't enough of a sacrifice for you? Irreparable harm done to kids due to the lockdowns?
And you want people to sacrifice more?

It's the damn peanut allergy again. 1 kid out 1000 in school has an allergy so rather then removing the one kid, everyone is denied peanuts. It's stupid.

So you would keep approximately 50,000 kids out of school nationwide so everyone can enjoy peanut butter?

As an aside they are now finding very early exposure to peanut butter can prevent future allergies.

For the record I’m not one who thinks we need to be still locked down and that some of the measures were overdone.

Absolutely. Considering 50 million kids go to school each year.

The desire to eat peanut butter is trivial compared to not educating 50,000 children.

So if your stupid you get to make a bad decision and endanger others?

    They aren't stupid.
I literally know a nurse telling people she has seen harmful effects. People listen to her and assume she is being truthful.
The single mom working two jobs takes her advice because she trusts a medical person.
And isnt going to stay ip late researching threads full of data like this.

Being misinformed/uncertain does not equate to being stupid.

I’m confused, you are or you aren’t concerned about the irreparable harm done to children from not being in school?

Back in the 1990s when I worked in the fitness industry, we had a term for bad info/advice; called it *gym science* (play off of junk science). It's the juiced beefcake with 20in pipes passing all sorts of dangerous ideas to others. And people listened bc 20in pipes. lol.

Thing is, we're living in an age of rampant misinformation. It's gym science on steroids and HGH.

By the way I am not even sure why/how we got to this particular line of discussion. I think I was intending something else. Oh well :)

I totally see what your saying. It makes sense as a comparison. I think thats the issue. People genuinely believe people they think they should trust.

The bad actors are the meatheads spouting nonsense. That doesnt make those who listen "stupid" as some are saying.

I would agree. Though I'll admit to calling such persons dumb on here, generally (not to an individual). Truth is they're vulnerable. Heck, we are all vulnerable, but some far more. And it seems so much more ubiquitous and unrelenting.

I try not to repost things that I've posted before, but this stood out to me the other day. I have an anti-vaxx neighbor who posted crazy on fb bc she watched some instagram influencer ranting about Gov Newsom's plan for covid being endemic, including monitoring wastewater. Mind you, we've been monitoring wastewater for a long time now for various reasons, but states around the country along w/the CDC started a covid wastewater surveillance. Completely innocuous and transparent, but with some, it's straight to conspiracy.

Instagram Rant by "factslawtruthjustice" Apparently she's a civil rights attorney

I am less patient with the political conspiracy BS. I am more talking about people who still have doubts about the newness of the vaccine, or people who tend to be very particular with their health and what they pit in their bodies.

Stuff like your post above though, thats a different story in my opinion. Thats (to use your analogy from before) more like the meathead convincing all the skinny guys at my gym that roids are really healthy.

I have known stupid nurses. What better term do you have for being misinformed when there is so much good information out there. You almost have to be a true contrarian to believe this anti vaxx crap at this point.

You're wasting your time promoting freedom in THFSG when it comes to covid. Half the people in here would love to lock you in your home and take your kids away.

Yeah, most of them are stupid.

It's one thing to get fooled by a particularly well done fake news story on the Internet, but if you are running around believing Trump is still president and JFK, Jr. is his vice then you are a certified grade A moron.

Lol, autocorrect got me. Correct my spelling but it doesn't change that most antivaxxers(there are a few exceptions) are not making good decisions. Not making good decisions is how I define stupid.

I dodnt say nurses cant be stupid. Im saying good people trust nurses. You .must live in a bubble if you think a single mom working two jobs listening to a nurse or an older couple listening to their son are contrarians. A lot of people don''t spend their time researching.

Hint: that isnt what we are talking about. We are talking about Covid. Feel free to start your Trump, JFK thread elsewhere.
