So what you’re saying is, to slow spread, everyone should get infected?

With some pretty severe side effects. Can you imagine recommending a vaccine that killed over 900 thousand Americans?

Alas, you don't understand, like many other words, the meaning of "misinformation". The questionable meme falsely attributed the CDC with a position is didn't make.

"I like to eat boogers with hot sauce" - Tjgators

Would you say the above is information or misinformation?

misinformation - false or inaccurate information, especially that which is deliberately intended to deceive.

Actually, based on this users posts I’d probably lean “information” on that one. :p

The odds are in your favor. Many are in more driving on the roads today than they are of Covid affecting them in a severe way.

But who cares about the data that has shown us from the beginning most recover healthy/unhealthy/vaccinated/unvaccinated. And if you are healthy…it really is not that dangerous and just an virus that you deal with like we all have throughout our lives.

But the propaganda continues to work on some. Unnecessarily scaring them…

Alas you don’t understand Satire. And it’s purpose of using absurdity to show absurdity.

This is a common red herring response to natural immunity and to continue and ignore the science.

No one is suggesting to go get the disease.

And now we have the inevitable case of people who wanted to keep schools closed now commenting that school closure's caused serious damage to kids. We have posters on here who deny that were for school closures back in 2020. Just next level dumb.

You continue your streak of simply making up stuff and being 100% wrong. But, keep spewing propaganda, it apparently makes you feel good about yourself.

The school closure crowd has been controlled by the propaganda. Or they were/are just evil.

Yes I used propaganda and evil and if that triggers you. Good. You need to reflect on the reality of damage caused by school closures.

No, it was a response to a post responding to the slowing of the spread. I’m not in total disagreement about how natural immunity should be treated. That wasn’t what the post was referencing though. He responding specifically with natural immunity slowing the spread. The only way to gain natural immunity is to catch it. If natural immunity was going to be used to slow the spread that would only be possible after everyone’s had it which would require the opposite of slowing the spread.

Now if we’re talking about vaccine passports and mandated vaccines, I’m not that far off from you in agreeing that those have become pointless considering the vaccinated are spreading it too. Where we split is I still see a value in keeping people alive. That wasn’t what the post I quoted was talking about though.

COVID-19 is the deadliest virus to hit in over a century. Nearly 1 million Americans dead. Only cancer and heart disease have taken more lives in this time frame, and neither of those are communicable. The vaccine has proven to be the most effective way to increase your odds of not having any severe problems with the virus.

Odds are, you can take your next car ride, not wear a seat belt, and be fine. The majority of drives end without incident or accident. But a seat belt increases your odds of being safe and surviving your trip.

The vaccine increases your odds of not having serious issues with the virus more than a seat belt increases your odds of survival. It's really that simple.

Covid to the vast majority of people is a cold/flu now with omicron. It has a crazy gradient risk difference for people. And most are low risk. We should not end relevant life over this. We are causing far more damage.

By the way…England has the solid data showing the majority of deaths are fully vaccinated. Sept-Dec the fully vaccinated have accounted for 75/85/81/75% of the Covid deaths if my memory serves me correct. @mutz can probably find the link quicker than me as he provided it last time.

Satire has context, does it not? A falsely attributed quote in isolation is not context.

Satire only works if it's obviously made up and it points to a truth. The meme fails on both counts.

It's also a dangerous tactic to use. How many of the typical anti-vaxxers can tell the difference between reality, fake news and satire?

I think closing preschools was a serious policy error. I do have one question and I will concede that it's off-topic. Since you seem concerned about the adverse impact of cognitive development on preschoolers resulting from the Covid-related closing of schools would you support federal legislation guaranteeing universal pre-K for all children. Seems that if you answer in the negative your complaint regarding the Covid closings rings hollow.
